How to predict period after Lap and D&C

I think Drs. will give different recommendations depending on each patient and their specific case....and it can take some time to get a true AF after a D&C, best to talk to your Dr. if in a few weeks your period is still not here.

Thanks veronica, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I did speak to my Dr. yesterday. I was curious what Dr. Q would say, based on his experience as I have heard many different perspectives. Some women have said they have gotten AF right away while others didn't get it for a while. Always nice to get different DR.s opinions, I don't take these recommendations in place of my own dr., just wanted his opinion. THANKS for your input. :)

Menstruation after LAP

You should expect your menstrual period to appear on schedule or a few days earlier than usual. However, the flow might change and be either lighter or heavier, and occasionally might be accompanied by clots. Slight vaginal bleeding following surgery is normal. If necessary, use a menstrual pad. Do not use a tampon for two weeks following surgery. Call your physician if there is excessive bleeding.

did you bleed after the surgery? I did for a few days like i said in my email to you but i have no idea when my AF started cuz it was very strange. I bled for like 2 or 3 days after the LAP and then 2 weeks later i started spotting again for a few days then only 1 day of actaul full flow.

Hello and thanks so much!!!!! Hope this isn't TMI but when I got up from the bed to leave the hospital I bleed onto the floor. After that bleed at the hospital, there was very little the next day or so and then nothing but maybe a clot or two. I never had anything of a full flow except when I stood up and haven't had anything since??? It has been 29 days since the Lap/D&C and 45 days since last AF. They did do a pregnancy test at the hospital. :O)

LMAO - so did i! I was so weirded out cuz i was still on drugs and was like "OMG, WTF is going on?!?!?!" lol!

Thats crazy that you havnt had anything - maybe the spotting was your last AF? Do you know that you ovulated that month?

That's funny that that happened to you too :O) My DH was right there and I was like OMG and we was trying to hold me up and look for something to help me clean up with.

I'm not sure if I checked ovulation that month b/c I knew that I was doing the procedure. Looking at my calendar if AF came on Nov. 21 then I would have ovulated maybe around Dec. 2/3 and LAP/D&C was going to be a few days later so I don't think we even wanted to try. But I did do OPK in Dec. after the procedure and I think it was +OPK on around Dec. 26 (when I was really expecting AF). We did BD so, we shall see????? I just would like to know how to count things. It is one thing to play the waiting game and know what we are waiting for but another to not even know when to count from or count to :O) I guess it's hard b/c all of our bodies react differently to these procedures. :O) THANKS!!!
