How does diabetes affect a man's fertility?

my dh just had an SA and we're waiting for the results, but i was wondering what kind of affect diabetes has on a mans fertility. also...what are the exact things they measure in an SA...i know a couple of them...mobility, deformity...etc. thanks!!!!

If it's type two and well controlled, may have little effect.

If it's type I, poorly controlled and for many years (along with typeII), sperm impairments would be expected
