How big do follicles need to be for trigger shot?

YJ Garcia... Anything that is 12mm or higher will commit to growing.

Most RE's want to see the follicles 18-22mm big be4 they trigger esp if meds.

So the 15mm and the 12mm that u have will grow. Niether of the 2 follicles are ready to ovulate yet. A mature follicle measures at 16mm or bigger so u still have a tad bit more to grow which is good so the 12mm will get bigger.

A follicle will grow about 1-2 mm a days and will grow alittle more with meds.

I had u/s on Wednesday, CD 14 and my follicles and the 15.5mm one grew to 19mm and the 12mm one stayed the same. Doc wants me to have another u/s tomorrow, CD 17 and he wants to trigger with Ovidrel. Is this normal?

I am having some pretty uncomfortable cramps for the past hour or so...is this ovulation or pre-ovulation?

Any help and advice is appreciated!! thanks!

YJGarcia... Congrats on the 19MM follicle =) Yes that is normal for them to do another U/S. They are checking to see if the 12mm follicle grew any and to make sure that the 19mm did not get to big.

The pains that u are most likely feeling are pre-ovulation.

Hi Everyone! I am on another post but saw this conversation. I am currently on 100 mg clomid. I went to my doctor today for an u/s. Im on cd 13. they measure one follicle to be 9mm and one 12mm. She told me i didn't have to come back in for her to check if they were growing. But I really hope they do! I keep taking these opk tests, but I have not gotten a positive yet! so far this cycle, only one has shown up on these tests.....
