You can also ask for a Progesterone Challenge Test to see if you get a period afterwards, and if you do get a good flow, chances are things should be ok
High FSH/LH Levels
September 04, 2008
I'm really scared and feel pretty ridiculous. I got my lab work back today and my FSH level is 110.2 and my LH level is 55. Apparently that puts me at the "post menopausal" level. I haven't had a period in 4 months and I'm only 27. My husband and I would really like a baby. Is there any chance and, if so, what do they usually do with patients like me? I have been referred to an infertility specialist by my PCP, but it will be awhile before I can get it. Thanks.
Hi-Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to help me. I HAVE been "hot" all the time, irritable, suffer from insomnia and decreased sex drive (MUCH TO MY HUSBAND'S DISMAY). I will definitely ask for a Progesterone Challenge Test tomorrow and then ask them to redo the Endocrine test at the appropriate day three time frame. They just randomly did the Endocrine test during the day that I happened to make my in office appointment, at the last minute. My biggest concern about all of this is geting pregnant. That is what I want more than anything, and I hope someone can tell me honestly what the chances are, and what will be most successful (and first step) to conceive a baby. We would prefer to not use donor eggs or adopt. We are willing to go through as many tries as necessary of everything needed to conceive a healthy baby?
Thanks again for everything!
Thanks again for everything!

If you haven't had any hot flashes over the last couple of years or menopausal symptoms, then please repeat the labs as a lab error can be a real possibility especially if you haven't felt these symptoms before and this is the best place to start
