hi i have signe dup to site after reading about it for ages,

i have been trying for 3 yrs with no luck to conceive.

i went to the doctors and i am ovulating they did the 21 day test, my tubes are open and my ovaries ok.

my partner went for a sperm test and his results were that they were consistent with oligzoospermia, and a few abnormailities were seen, his spem count range was 20 mil and his sperm mobility was 66%, the doc said that should be ok. he was on clomid for a while but stopped because it caused him sever side effects.

i don't know what else to do and am desparate for a baby.....what route shall i go down, the IVF?

Please help i cant help it but i can see it slowly taking over my life, and i dont want it to.

Hi Sam and Welcome to F/T! Oligzoospermia is a basically low sperm count that clomid and/or HCG could help him---(Human Chorionic Gonadotopin (hCG) can be purchased as either a urinary or recombinant product. We usually use hCG at high doses once the follicle(s) are mature to induce ovulation just like the human body would. Now, we use hCG instead of LH (like your body does) because they work the same and hCG is much less expensive than if we used LH. Now the key is to play with the dose. If he is having side effects maybe speak with the dr on decreasing the does and/or taking the meds at night.

Also are you working with a RE (Reproductive Endocrinologist) and not a regular ob/gyn. If his sperm count is over 10 mil you might want to look into doing IUI. There is loads of information and many women on this site have become preggo due to IUI it's a very simple process. With his sperm count and mobility I do think IUI would be your best route to go. *decreasing the dose

Welcome to FertilityTies Sam and Thank you for Joining :D

Working with an RE would definately help, and like angelfish said, other medications are available for him which would include hCG shots...IUIs can help is there's >10Million Total Motile Sperm like Angelfish said, but if you want the procedure that gives you the best chances, IVF would definately be the way to go...

Good luck, and keep us posted...

hi thanks for your comment

i went to the dr#s and he give me a number for a gyna appointment to go private but do you think we are better off seeing an endricologist?

we would be going private so it would cost quite a bit....so best to go the right people to help us.

Hi Sam and you are very welcome. Yes RE is much better because of your situation. I understand about the cost but many dr's do have a payment plans and also you can look into insurance dealing with infertility. I read somewhere that this is being done now.
