Here's my Journey: Trying to conceive with PCOS
March 01, 2008
I am 24 years old, married to my husband for a year and have been dating for 8 years. We both have good jobs and we own our own home and are doing well financially. We have been TTC for 10 months now. I went off birth control (which I had been on for 6 years) and now I found out a few months ago that I am not ovulating and also not having my period. My doctor gave me provera to get my period in November 2007, it came. Then it came again on it's own in December 2007. And now, it's March 1, 2008 and no period and neg HPT and blood test. I've had my progesterone checked and clearly my levels are low and I am not ovulating. My doctor said I have PCOS and is starting me on Clomid this week. I took another round of the provera last week, am now currently waiting for my period and will begin the clomid on days 5-9 of my cycle. I am so nervous, yet excited. I am worried that I am not going to concieve. I would love to hear your story or experiences with Clomid. My husband and I so desperately want a child. Thank you all for your advice!
Thats true that some say u ovulate even on clomid, those are women who have cycles that are lesser than 23 days. But generally u ovulate within 10 days after finishing the last pill of Clomid.
If u feel buying OPKs from retail stores r expensive, then try getting them off ebay. A lot of women from the site get it from there.
Good luck
Just wanted to let you know I had a similar situation to yours. Was on birth control for 11 years (I'm 27) and went off in November of 2006. Got my period in December all on my own and then never got it again. After not having a period and not ovulating on clomid (dont worry you will ovulate, I just have stubborn eggs!) I went to see a specialist and was diagnosed with pcos in August of 2007. I ended up taking Gonal F injectables and got pregnant our 2nd round! So it will happen for you sweetie dont even think for a minute that it wont! If you have any questions please let me know! Wishing you all the best sweetie and please keep us posted on your cycle! Sending you loads of baby dust:)

Have any of you ever had a negative OPK but found out later you ovulated? Just curious.
Please pray for me. I will keep you posted.

Katie, yes when I took my OPK yesterday, the control line was of course dark, and the test line did show up, but it was lighter than the control line. So I figured that was a negative. I thought if it was positive both lines would be about the same color. Is that not right? I'm not sure. I'm so confused. I am just so excited and praying to get a positve OPK that I may be getting my hopes up. My BH and I are still BDing on the right days, so hopefully I won't miss a chance if I do ovulate.
Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated.

Beetle, I am on CD15 now, about to be CD16. I go for my progesterone level on Monday, March 24 to see if I ovulated.
I'll be thinking about you and sending you ++++OPK dust!!! I hope you get your positive OPK!!! Keep me updated!

To make ur chances of getting more, u can start using OPKs to see when ur ovulating. That really helps.
Good Luck to u and
