Here's the latest....

Today was our first appt. with the RE. Not much to tell yet, as he wants to evaluate everything first and see where we are. He wants me to do an ultrasound sometime between CDs 2-4 to see how many follicles I have. He also wants DH to do one more semen analysis to confirm that there is, in fact, a motility issue. Once he sees those two items, he'll make a judgement about what course of action we should take. He did say, that most likely, we'll try a couple of rounds of IUI first, assuming my husband's sperm count remains high. He also looked at my HSG film and said he doesn't think there's any sort of blockage in my left tube, which is good. The doctor who performed the test wrote in the report: "The uterus is normal in size and contour, but a small defect is seen behind the left fundal region which persists and is probably a small synechia. There is prompt symmetric fill of both tubes, but only free spill is seen on the right. On the left the tube fills, but there is no real free spill. This raises the question of peritubal adhesions on the left. The tube is not dialated. No evidence of a hydrosalpinx is seen."

I have no idea what that means, but all I know is I DON'T WANT TO REPEAT THAT TEST!!! It was very uncomfortable.

Anyway, that's where we are now. I feel better knowing that we're on a course to have a baby now. I hope it will happen this summer. :)

I'll keep you posted. Anyone know what the above means???

The uterus is normal in size and contour, but a small defect is seen behind the left fundal(BACK) region which persists and is probably a small synechia(ADHESION). There is prompt symmetric fill of both tubes(THAT'S GOOD), but only free spill is seen on the right(SHOULD SPILL FREELY ON BOTH SIDES). On the left the tube fills, but there is no real free spill. This raises the question of peritubal adhesions on the left. The tube is not dialated(NOT EXPANDED). No evidence of a hydrosalpinx(FLUID)is seen(WHICH IS GOOD)

I HOPE MY INTERPRETATION HELPS YOU. BASICALLY, YOUR HSG SHOWED THAT ALTHOUGH YOUR TUBES ARE OPEN, YOUR LEFT ONE MIGHT HAVE ADHESIONS THAT MAY OR MAY NOT HINDER THE TRAVEL OF YOUR EGG.

YOUR RE IS ON THE RIGHT TRACK & HOPE YOU GET PREGGO SOON!

GOOD LUCK!!

I second the notion that that test is mighty uncomfortable!
