Heartrate

A baby's heartrate can range anywhere from 110-180. Therefore 170 is not too high. A baby should have variability and the heartrate should be different at your visits. If it is constantly in the 170s an evaluation may need to be performed but if it is 172 this week and 154 next visit, then that is just normal variation.

hey Kan my baby's HR at 11 W was 174. The very next day it was 148. I think she was just moving a lot. The HR is expected to increase when they move. I think it would gradually slow down after the next few weeks and settle somewhere around 130-160.

Kan- Sydney's HR has been all different things at each visit- and yes it was very high like that early on... :)

So why has everyone else's been lower?

Hers is lower now, but that early it was always much higher and then it gradually has slowed- last visit it was 140 which they said was good.

Dont know the answer- just sharing what happend with us. :) I know its faster to start and then will slow as you get farther and farter along... You are almost 2nd trimester already!

Lol...everyone keeps telling me that I am having a little girl. So I am hoping someone who had a little boy also had a really high heartrate too. I know heartrate does not indicate sex, but gosh can I get just 1 person, lol.

Kan if it helps any my last sons heart beat wasin the 160's

Sarah and I had similar heart rates and she had a boy I had a girl. I think its more physiological than to do with the sex of the baby reg the heart rate. May be the others just caught it when it was low lol

Its a girl!!!!! Both my girls were 170 and 168 for the first 2 mths and from there on out they range in 150 to 159...or maybe its a boy but i say girl!!1

Mine's have always been 143-144 n its a girl :)) so the odds are still 50-50 :))))

Either will be such a great blessing..but i know you love little boys..they are too cute!!!
