Healthy 23 y/o cannot conceive, but everything is normal?(according to obgyn)

I have had this problem for as far back as i can remember. As a teenager i began getting chronic pain before and during my period. Sometimes I'd miss a period but nothing I've ever felt compared to this pain. Was diagnosed at 13 with PCOS, but ive never had any cysts up until about 2 years ago which went away on it's own. My husband and i have been trying to conceive for 3 years now and nothing is working. We have not yet used any other methods of conception besides quitting smoking which i did right away, eating healthy, and exercising to stay in shape. I thought maybe my problems were from being over weight. I lost 130lbs. Wasnt surprised when that didnt work either. 2007 i got pregnant but miscarried before i even knew i was pregnant. Recently i have been having serious period pains and irregularities including a large amount of clots. July 2009 i was bleeding for a month. Heavy clotting. Started 1 week before my period was due (since dropping the weight my periods are more regular 26-31 day cycles) and had a lot of pain. I finally decided to go to the ER and the ER physician told me there is no indication of any cysts or abnormalities, that i should go home and let nature take it's course. So i did....Now again...october 2009...im bleeding 1 week early with heavy clots. I'm worried i might be miscarrying again...if not...what is wrong with me?!?!? my husband is perfectly healthy...doctors say there should be no reason why i should not be able to conceive...I take my BBT every morning, if not every other and monitor my cervical mucus for ovulation...please help!! I'm becoming desperate for answers!!!

If you know when you are ovulating and you've been starting AF a week early, it could be that you have a short luteal phase. You are probably not having another miscarriage, but are starting AF early. Also, if you have PCOS, then the doctors should know that everything is not okay and fine. I would find a new doctor that will take your issue more seriously. With PCOS, people often need help conceiving. Good luck and I hope things start to improve!

hi dreamin, i don't know much about pcos, but what you started to experience as a teenager.....the pain before period and during.... sounds alot like what i went through. mine started out at around 13-14, sharp pains from belly button down. only right before my period and during. i would vary every month, i tried b/c, which helped some. no doctor ever tried to tell me why. i bled heavy, clots and all. in 2007 i gave birth to my lil girl, was nursing, and by the time she was 3 months old my periods came back, and so did all of the pain.... with a vengence. i was 27 then. i suffered through some of the worst pain of my life during my periods. i had sharp pains in my vagina, and rectum, stomache, and labor style cramps. finally i went to see a Dr. about it. i went in and told him that my uterus hated me and i wanted it out! i had a u/s which showed that i had a very large uterus, no fibroids, no sign of cancer, when i went back to him he said that i need a lap. to remove endometrial tissue from inside my pelvis and intestines. he told me that i have endometriosis. i never had my lap. done, he also told me that if i wanted another baby to get on the ball cause endo can cause infertility, we waited a year and then started trying. i am now 10 weeks preg. and dread when my periods will come back, my very long point is, have your Dr.s ruled out EVERYTHING? i was also told that you can't always see endo on a u/s so lap. is always required, so if you were ever told that you don't have it and you have never had any tests for it, then you should reguest them. i was on the b/c YAZ for three months and my pain decreased to bearable, my periods went to exactly 28 days and stayed that way until i got preggo (9 months after stopping YAZ). good luck to you, i hope you find what is causing your pain, and infertility.
