jennifer - I was told that clomid is supposed to help the quality of your eggs and lengthen your cycle. I was on clomid for 2 cycles and I got preggers. I took it on cd3-7 and on this cycle when I got preggers I had 3 follicles measuring 18,17,11 and my uterine lining measured at 8mm. As for side effects - it put me in a very dark, depressed mood and sometimes headaches and that was it. It is different for everyone. I feel it was worth every bit!

Congrats Jennifer! I know that being on SOMETHING makes you feel better..like you have more of a chance. We've been thru 19 months of trying, and i'm just on my 4th round of Clomid now. I had a low progesterone, and after the 1st round, it shot up to 22!! So i know its working, its just a matter of getting pregnant, and then he'll put me (and they'll do this for you too most likely) on a progesterone supplement as soon as i'm pregnant thru-out the first trimester to hold the pregnancy.

But keep your head up. It may not happen on the first round, but they usually give you 5-6 rounds total, and a lot of people say it happened on their last round, when they thought they'd have to move onto the next step. HOpefully we'll get pregnant soon!

Jennifer- I have a love/hate relationship with clomid! I love that it got me pregnant (although i lost the baby- unrelated to clomid!), but I hate that it puts in me a really dark/depressed state for a couple of days. And even though i knew it was the effects of the clomid, i couldn't pull myself completely out of if for about 2 days...and there were the headaches, and the hot flashes at night. Oh, and I had no cm (but preseed helps)- all this happened in the couple days AFTER taking clomid, so for me it wouldn't of helped to switch up taking it during the day or at night!

BUT I can't wait to start my second round! ha! ...hopefully that will be at the end of august (or sooner depending on af!!!).

Keep us all updated with your side effects, etc...and remember- they will all go away soon! ha!

i haven't had any side effects from the clomid, so you may be fine. everyone's experiences are different & everyone's body reacts differently. You may be fine : )

I hope it all goes smoothly. Can I ask to have my progesterone checked when i go for my u/s on CD12?

I forgot i wanted to ask him about progesterone. I was just so excited to be getting clomid my mind went blank. lol.

hey jennifer, i took clomid back in 2007 and got pregnant on my 4th round. the first 3 rounds were 50mg and the 4th was 100mg. that pregnancy ended in miscarriage so we took a short break. so now ive been taking 100mg for the past 3mths with no luck. ive been having really good follicle size but my lining has been really thin.

while on clomid i would go in somewhere around cd14 for an ultrasound and go back on cd21 for the progesterone check. you wanna get your progesterone checked around cd21 bc thats when you can tell whether or not you ovulated.

i had several side effects from the clomid. i had headaches, hot flashes, night sweats and blurred vision...but everyone reacts differently.

I took clomid 50 mg cd 3-7 and got pregnant with my twins on the third cycle three years ago. I was mostly moody and nit picky, but nothing horrible. This time I took clomid cd 2-6 and really didn't get the stimulation my RE wanted to see. I did have the mood swings though. I think my dh was ready to run away this weekend. LOL Ok not quite that bad, but close. Good luck! Hope you get your bfp the first time.
