This is my first IUI with injectables after 2 unsuccessful rounds of IVF. I also had a lap, hysteroscopy and HSG 3 weeks ago. I was diagnosed with Endo Stage 2-lasered off endo on both ovaries, outside of uterus and in front of the uterus. Dr. Rec. IUI with injectables. Dr. had used 225iu of Follistim at start of one IVF cycle, but then increased it to 300iu b/c E2 levels were not quite where he wanted them. I had 8 follicles, but 5 were mature.
Dr. wants to use 250iu of Follistim. I was worried about that and asked if he could lower it and he said he would go down to 200iu to start. What do you think about the dosage? Is this higher than most? What is there a too many follies...do they let you coast or reduce the amt? I am just concerned that I may get too many and have to cancel the cycle. What are the odds of multiples with >4 follicles? Also, should I be using Ganirelix to prevent premature ovulation?
Thanks so much for your time and help.

Ganirelix usually isn't used for IUI cycles, but can be.. The dose can be about right, and with close monitoring, if too many follicles are noticed, the dose can be reduced to prevent too many follicles from being created
