Follicles and IUI

My follicle was at 20mm on Thursday and I took the hcg shot thursday evening. I went to my RE Sat morning to do u/s and my follicle was at 22mm and still did not release. My husband has antibodies so they did a washing of his sample and performed the IUI at 10 am. We are hoping that the egg released BUT on Monday I went back for u/s to see if egg released but my follicle was at 26. Does this mean it never released? The nurse said she didn't think so but she can't say for sure. Now I am on progesterone suppositories and I had another hcg shot for corpus luteum.

Does this make sense to anyone? Please help? They are making it sound as if the egg released. They are treating me as if I could be pregnant. Am I hoping too much?

Thank you.

The follicle should have released an egg given the hCG... what you saw at 26mm is what's called a corpus luteal cyst
