I am supposed to do my first IUI this cycle. I am on CD9 and have been prescribed an overlap treatment where I'm on Femara from CD3 - CD7 and then Puregon from CD6 - CD10.
Well today the nurse at the clinic told me that one follicle is already dominating and quite large (I didn't ask her the size). I asked if there were others and she said there is another one that could grow and the others are still quite small.
The reason I was prescribed this protocol was to produce multiple follicles and to increase my odds of getting pregnant (it's been 2 yrs of unexplained infertility - I have one DS who is 4).
My question is this - why I'm only producing one strong follicle? Will they have to adjust my medication for the next treatment? Should I do the IUI if I only have one follicle or wait until the next cycle??
I'm feeling quite disappointed as the clinic was sure I would respond well to this protocol, and right now it's not looking too good.
