Fibroids and fertility
I was just diagnosed with additional fibroids. Based on the last ultrasound, I have had 3 under 1.5cm for about 5yrs. I now have a fourth which is submucosal and causing some bleeding and cramping. I also have a mild bicornuate uterus. I have had one child that is 5.5yrs. I have a 2cm cyst on my right ovary. I have been having some side effects since August like, heavy bleeding, now just spotting and light bleeding off/on, cramping, nausea off/on. My Dr has given me all the options based on my case: Myomectomy, ablation, lupron or partial Hystorectomy. He thinks the only good options are the last two as he thinks I either wouldnt have much left of my uterus or the Circulation cut off would be risky. I am stearing towards the Lupron as we are thinking of trying one last time for a pregnancy. We hadnt tried to get pregnant really in the last 5yrs. What tests should be performed prior to me taking Lupron?? I dont want to take it and get my hopes up for nothing.

I failed to note that I just turned 44yrs. I am doing bloodwork end of this week to check hormone levels to see if trying for a pregnancy is out of the question or not.. Thanks for the suggestion. I am looking for a Dr to see for a second opinion as I am keeping my options open even though my Dr is a very good one and does robotic/minimal invasive surgury here in Orange, Calif...I want surgury to be my last resort....
Is the bloodwork one way to check for hormone levels? Are there any other tests to check my fertility? Check if follicles are still forming? I am very ignorant in this area...please advise if I am missing anything else.
Thanks again Dr Q!

Well My hormone level came back as normal...whatever that may mean. Now I am just fighting the constant bleeding and off/on gushing so it is hard to know where I am in ovulating etc.
Is a myomectomy the only option to stop bleeding? Is a D & C the old school way? I am thinking of only taking care of the fibroid that is causing my bleeding at this point.
what tests do I need to do first before heading to the myomectomy. A hysteroscope?
Dr Q or anyone, Please advise thx!
