fertility issues

August 03, 2008

My husband and I have been married and without any form of birth control for over 6 years. As of yet we have not conceived. We have set up an appointment with a fertility specialist in a few months. I am in my mid thirties and my husband is in his late thirties. I hate to admitt it, but we are actually hoping, if and when we conceive, that we have a multiple birth. For many reasons; one being that we would not rather have an only child, and as we are getting on in reproductive years, one pregnancy sounds do inviting. My question is, are we crazy or is this more common than we are thinking? I don't want our doctor to repremand us. We know that multiples carry risks.

Welcome!

Actually, this is a common request and not an unusual one...and chances can be increased, so long as you're well aware of all the pregnancy risks involved...

Good luck, and keep us posted..

Thanks for the response, I just felt as though it would be a rediculous request and needed a little reassurance.
