Exactly how many MONTHS pregnant am I?

Hey Meghan, I'd say you are in your 6th month now, but will start your seventh month in a couple days. I believe that is figured like this:

weeks 4w1d-8w 1 month

9w1d-12w 2 months

12w1d-16w 3 months

16w1d-20w 4 months

20w1d-24w 5 months

24w1d-28w 6 months

28w1d-32w 7 months

32w1d-36w 8 months

36w1d-40w 9 months

of course, im not a doctor, and im not 100% sure...but this is the way i have been figuring it!

opps...noticed a typo in my last post - meant 8w1d thru 12w would be 2 months!

Thanks Erin, I was looking for the same answer, someone asked me how many months and I was like blank..I thought # of months was also from the LMP just like the weeks.guess not

Whereas this is the common way most people talk about months, Ob/Gyns start counting 1st Month as 0-4wks which is from LMP..

i tend to get confused also, but i thought it is every 4 weeks, so 12 weeks would be the 3 month mark

So.. I'm still confused... how many months do I say? :o) I suppose, my last lmp was end of august.. so to sept, oct, nov, dec, jan, feb,... so I'd guess that makes me like 6 1/2?

I think that it is every 4 weeks then that is a month. Hope this helped u out some. U can count from ur LMP. What ever day it was suppose to come on and it didn't then that would be day one and then count from there. Hope this helps.

My LMP is Aug 14th. Per the Drs calculations, I am 8 Months 2 weeks preggo. So, ur probably 8 months right now. Total preggo time would be 10 months.

Hey, Megan..the book Your Pregnancy Week by Week explains that all! The weeks/months are so confusing..you're really prego for like 10 months! LOL

Meg you are almost 7 months pregnant, or 6 months and 3 1/2 weeks pregnant. I'd just say I was entering my 7th month.

Yep, from an Ob/Gyn perspective, pregnancy is 40wks long or 10months because one counts from the LMP, which means first month is 0-4wks and can start counting from here...

In the general population however, one always says pregnancy is 9months...so the general population starts counting the first month as 4-8wks of pregnancy...Hope this helps...

Alright then.. so I'm almost seven months! ;o)

Okay.. I found a good breakdown:

Month 1: Conception-6 weeks

Month 2: 7-10 weeks

Month 3: 11-14 weeks

Month 4: 15-18 weeks

Month 5: 19-22 weeks

Month 6: 23-26 weeks

Month 7: 27-30 weeks

Month 8: 31-35 weeks

Month 9: 36 weeks-delivery

So.. according to this... I'm actually 7 1/2 months! I'm 29 weeks today!! :o) Oh my gosh.. I'm starting to freak out!

Aww thanks liane.. I can't believe how HUGE I'm getting! :o) I'm thinking this is going to be one big baby! :o)

thats exactly how it goes! I remember being so upset that I didn't get to have a belly immediately.. haha.. because I wanted the whole world to know i was pregnant.. I still enjoy showing offm y belly.. but.. it is definitely less than comfy! haha

That is what I am excited for too is showing it off so everyone knows that I am preggo!

hehe.. just wait for the awkward phase.. where you have some pudge in the middle.. but you just look chubby and not prego.. it seemed to take forever before I actually looked prego and not just chubby.. i'd say just within that past 1 or 1 1/2 months.. and i'm 7 1/2 months now.

How long before you really started showing then?

Or had to wear Maternity clothes?

I am very tiny- so I started in maternity pants at 10 weeks, but thats not the norm :)
