Little to worry, Clomid shouldn't affect OPKs much in a majority of patients and can be considered still good...Although it would be good to have uring for 4hrs, it may not be essential in all cases to get a good OPK value...
Effect of UTI and Clomid on determining ovulation
May 21, 2008
OK, I have a bunch of things going on this month and I am unsure how any of them might interfere with my ability to pinpoint ovulation.
1 - I have a UTI and can't seem to hold it for the 4 hours recommended in my OPK test kit. Should I disregard my OPK results while this condition exists?
2 - I am in my 2nd cycle of taking Clomid (50 mg tablets on CDs 5-9). I'm on CD 10 this month and have so far not gotten a + OPK. Last month, however, I got a + OPK on CD 10 but (based on when I got AF, CM patterns, and BBT) did not otherwise seem to ovulate until CD 15. Is it possible, however, unusual, for Clomid to affect an OPK result? Does it appear that this is something I should be worried about this month?
Any and all advce/feedback is appreciated.
