Dry itchy skin

This has nothing to do with fertility, and as far as I know it has nothing to do with being pregnant...but I figured I'd ask since you ladies seem to know everything!

I have the driest, itchiest skin you can imagine. Doesn't matter how much lotion I use, the itch stays. Im starting to go crazy! It bothers me most on the tops of my hands. I've tried a few different lotions and creams that havent helped. Any suggestions???

Put some vaseline on your hands and then put some surgical gloves on before you got to bed. Leave them on over night. My dad gets cracks in his hands from working outside in the cold doing carpentry and this is what he does...it is worth a try!

I agree with Liane. Try not to use perfumy lotions as those tend to smell good but not work. Vaseline should work or even cuticle oil w/gloves. When you wash dishes or do house cleaning, always wear gloves. :)

Erin~ try Aquaphilic cream...we use it on my son who has atopic dermatitis/very dry skin. Its fragrance and dye free. You can get it at Target and most Walmarts...ask pharmacist if you can't find it. A little tub of it is around $7 and lasts a long time. It makes your skin feel great!

Thanks everyone for you suggestions!! I picked up some cotton gloves and some vaseline on the way home. Hopefully sleeping with the gloves on will give me some relief. I actually woke up last night scratching my hands...and winter is barely here yet!!!

When I was pregnant I had the same problem, but it was my legs that itched like crazy...it was terrible so I know how you feel...and my nipples itched horribly for a while too. That was fun, lol

hahaha. Yeah, my legs itch something awful too, but for some reason its not bothering me as much as my hands. I just throw my legs on top of my DH and have him itch them for me. It's like heaven!
