Dreams during pregnancy- Gender predictor????

July 20, 2008

Hello!

I am wondering if any of you ladies have heard of (or had yourself) dreams that predicted the baby's gender before you officially found out. I am just over 14 weeks and I have been having quite vivid dreams lately. Some bizzare and some "normal" but I've for the most part been able to actually remember them the last couple of months. Anyways, I've had MANY people tell me that they dreamed what they were having- and their dreams were right on- I've also had people tell me that they "just knew"... I think everyone was right around 4-5 months when they either had the feeling- or the dream... So I have been wondering IF I would get such a dream or instinct.........

Sooo... last night I had a dream that I had a little boy..I forgot a lot of my dream but I remember I was walking the baby in a stroller and that it was a boy- I think in my dream I even told someone it was a boy....

LOL now I am wondering if somehow mentally I "forced" the dream... or if indeed this is possibly a good indicator of the gender...

My husband and I truely do NOT have a preference- we just want a healthy baby....

So- ladies who have had children- or will soon, have you had any such dream or instinct? if you did was it accurate? Or could the whole dream/instinct be completely coincidental?

Lisa- I dont know how true this idea really is- Ive heard the same thing- I had dreams while ttc that I had a baby girl- and I remember almost thinking that I felt or that I saw a baby move in the dream (now not possible because I wasnt pregnant at the time) BUT once i was pregnant I had a few dreams about having a baby boy...

and well ... its a Girl! LOL So I have no idea. Arent pregnancy dreams strange though- so odd!! Its like one night they are so pleasant and then Im woken up by sweating and crying? :)

Congrats again on your pregnancy- :) Cant wait to know what you are having.. not much longer now :)

Hi Lisa,

When I was pregnant with my son, I just knew he was a boy. I had this instinct. And, he was a boy!

With this pregnancy (9 weeks), I've already had 2 dreams I'm having a boy. The funny thing is, I don't really have an inclination with this pregnancy. I did buy a gender kit online (2 of them) and I can take them as early as 10 weeks. So, at 10 weeks I'll take one and at 12 weeks I'll take the other just to make the the gender is the 'same'!!! Of course, ultrasound is really the only way to know but this test says its 90% accurate and my niece took one and it was correct :)

I think you can find out at 19 weeks. You'll have to keep us posted on what you are having :)

Thanks ladies!

I find out Aug 22nd... but it seems like FOREVER until then!!! I just want to know :)

Amy- what does the gender test measure? I've never heard of such a thing before!

I saw it advertised in a pregnancy magazine. The website is intelligender.com. You basically use FMU. It is a kit. You pee in the cup and then use this measuring device they give you to add your urine to this special cup (it has 'stuff' in it). In 10 min. you know if its a boy or girl based on the color your urine turns. I read the testimonials and they seem pretty accurate and any time someone notified them they had 2 different results they sent them another kit. I ordered two to make sure the results are the same. My niece took it and it was correct. I think they say they are 90% accurate so I'll definately have my ultrasound to confirm!!

Hey Lisa I find out the Gender on August 11 I know what you mean by feeling like it is taking forever!!! I can't wait I wanna go shopping. So does it matter what you are having? To me I really don't care see I have had three girls and I would love to have a boyt but at the same time I have only had three daughters and two nieces so I have never really been around alot of boy babies. I think I would kinda freak if I was having a boy. I know that sounds crazy but maybe you know what I mean. I am just used to baby girls. Now My DH he has 2 boys ages 10 & 14 and 1 daughter but they live with their mother and visit us on the weekend. So he doesn't get to do sports or actually get to be the father he wants to be to them because of that so he Deff wants a boy cause My two girls live with us and they keep him busy with (((BOYS))) and sports ( Softball ) but he loves it he just wants to raise his little son. But like I said as for me I don't care as long as it is healthy cause it will be mommies little Man or mommies little Angel one or the other!!! LOL

Hi Shae-

No, it really does not matter to me or hubby whether we have a boy or girl. I just want a healthy baby! My last pregnancy I really wanted a girl, and hubby really wanted a boy- but that pregnancy resulted in me having to have a D & C :(

so This time around I can honestly say I don't have a preference- I just want to know! ha ha ... I want to narrow the name list down... I want to go shopping!!!! okay.. mainly I want to go shopping lol ....

Hi Lisa,

I also had the same dreams around the same time you did. I had so many dreams I was having a baby girl and then one night I had a dream I was opening up all these baby gifts and they were all boy things and I was asking people why they got me boy things when I am having a girl! But I found out a few weeks later I am having a boy! So I was wrong! I also had so many instincts that it was a girl too and I was so wrong! So I dont know about the dreams but I am sure they are right for some people! I even saw a psychic last October and she told me I was gonna have twin girls and well she was wrong too. So who knows! Dont worry August 22nd will be here before you know it!

And it's also much cheaper to have a boy! Everytime I go shopiing the little girl clothes are so darn cute that I would be buying everything! It's a little harder to find really cute things for boys but I am managaing to find some ctue stuff... his closet is almost full! My husband looks at me like I'm buts everytime I come home from the store because I always come home with something for the baby!

July 22, 2008

LOL that's funny Keller- my husband is already looking at me like I am nuts! I've been buying stuff for both a boy and girl the past few months- well I guess even before I was pregnant! Of course not like A LOT of stuff- but Target clearances out the CUTEST classic pooh baby clothes! And then of course there's the gender neutral stuff like bibs, books, etc....

I've got BOXES of stuff for the baby and the baby's nursery- I can't wait for our house to get done so I can put everything in the nursery- and figure out what else the baby needs ( or that I want!!!)

July 22, 2008

i had a feeling with both kids as to what they were far before we found out thru the u/s. I did have a dream when i was preggo with my daughter that she would be a girl but dont remember any dream about my son while i was pregnant.

I dont know if i just "knew" or if i was just hoping and it worked out my way... lol!

I carried was different with my girl and boy too so that was a good indication. I was a fat cow with my daughter and had stretch marks on my butt and hips - looked like i swallowed a spare tire and with my son i was all belly! Gained 80+ pounds with both of them but if you saw only my face with my sons pregnancy you would have never guessed i gained a pound. :)

July 22, 2008

I keep dreaming that I'm having a boy. Not sure if it is just wishful thinking or what :) But I am like you Lisa I just want to go BUY things! I have to wait until October though :( Arggg. :)

July 23, 2008

Hello!!! Well I actually had a gender dream last night LOL See I work in a large affice building and people are always asking me what are you having. So I decided that when I find out I am going to buy something to put on my door at work to let them know the gender. In my Dream last night I was buying little Boy Stuff!! So I guess we will know for sure August 11th!!! As for now we will keep guessing! LOL ;)
