Hi - thanks for taking time to read. I am currently TTC - but this cycle on Day 12 I started to feel period type pains (low abdominal across old c-section scar with lower back pain). The pain is mild say a 3 out of 10 but there in spells on and off throughout the day. I had thought it was ovulation pain but its continued and its now day 21. I am starting to wonder what it is? It really is period type pain, no bleeding, no temp, feel fine. Pain is intermitent and not related to bowels. What do you think? thanks in advance

Sounds like it could be a cyst. I had several last cycle, a result of the HCG shot, an although my pain was a "10" on the pain scale, I had the exact same symptoms you had.

Hi Amy - I went to my gp today and she did an exam and said that she thought it was a ruptured egg at ovulation that caused a bit of fluid in the abdomin area - hence pain!! thanks again

I'm confused, too. A "ruptured egg" (actually, a ruptured follicle) occurs everytime you ovulate. Your doc must mean that you ruptured a cyst, since you had free fluid. Fluid and blood (sometimes a result of a ruptured cyst) are major irritants to our body and often cause pain--sometimes severe. The closer you get to your period, the less pain you will feel as the cysts will dissipate. Glad you're feeling better.

Hi - I am not sure really and she seemed none to concerned. You are right though I am now on CD24 and pain very much better! oh heck why would I have had a cyst? thanks

I've had problems with cysts off and on for 5 years now... Everytime I get them is around the time I ovulate and the pain is very bad.. I have AF like cramps, it hurts to have intercourse and hurts to push down when going to the bathroom, or to stop peeing.. Also have to sit at an angle since sitting straight on bottom would send shooting pains thru lower stomach.. This last time, after I ovulated the cramping started to ease up, I thought it was getting better..Then on the 4th day of the symptoms it got so severe where I could not touch my right side of stomach, I broke out in a sweat and my legs went numb and had shooting pains down my spine and thighs... I seriously thought I was dying... Then after about 10 min of the excruciating pain it felt like a water balloon inside my stomach exploded and I felt a gush inside my body and as this happened my pain subsided and by the end of the next day all the symptoms were gone...I can only guess this was a ruptured cyst.. Never experienced anything so painful in my life, but the good news is these cysts don't hurt your chances of getting pregnant because I conceived that month, with all the problems I had and am 8 weeks now.. I was so upset in the 2 week wait thinking this cyst stopped me from conceiving... So good luck and don't worry:)
