Dr's or Ladies-??? about AF-might be TMI so sorry!!

August 14, 2008

OK, sorry again for TMI but I have a ? about AF...

When your cycle is at it's heaviest does it seem that the blood COLLECTS inside of you instead of flowing out?? I always feel a "pooling" sensation when AF is here, sometimes, I could wear the same pad all day becuase nothing comes out, yet when I go to the bathroom & wipe it is a gross mess! (sorry guys!)

Anyway, I have always had this type of AF but now I notice everything & was wondering if this normal???

I sometimes have the same problem. Are you experiencing clots?

August 14, 2008

I do get clots. Not always large ones but def there. Then as ladypink says at other times it is very watery or gushing. As a teenager I would have a similar situation as you, LadyP & it would gush out but these days I don't get that very often. Just this kind of pooling sensation & then when I use the restroom there it is. I can understan at night I am lying down & it would seem more likely to collect instead of flow but seems strange for this to happen during the day.

August 14, 2008

very normal for that to happen...esp if you have very long cycles...very normal...if you are going thru more than 5 to 8 pads per day then seek help:)))....

August 14, 2008

Angel when you say long cycles do you mean CD1 to the start of the next AF or just the lenght that AF is here? Cause I do have long stretches between cycles (witness this times CD70 cycle length, lol) but AF only lasts a few days usually.

August 14, 2008

yes because of the cd 70 length you period can be very heavy because when you have your period you are shedding that lining and with a cd70 you will have thick lining to shedding...the lenght of AF is no really be deal...if you need a pad or tampon that is a real period not spotting:))))...you need to shed more often than every 70 days because research has shown it can cause issues via cancer and other things...so having long cycles like that is not a good thing at all!!!!

YEs, usually I will take provera or BC to bring on AF long before this but my new Dr's office does not seem too concerned with the fact that I have skipped 2 out of the 4 months having AF since I became their pt. Just another reason why I have decided to go back to my old Dr.

August 14, 2008

Also, I have been wondering too if the fact that I have been so very very stressed out since changing Dr's has anything to do with me having irregular AF now??

August 14, 2008

I would push it or move to another dr...you are paying them all of this money for really no health care...that sucks!!!! I can give you better treatment than they do....

August 14, 2008

I have already decided to go back to my other Dr. His office is farther away but I was so much more at ease there. I feel so much less stressed out since calling to cancel my apts with them this morning, lol!

August 14, 2008

good for you that place sucks and needs to be reported!!!!! keep me posted on things!!!!

August 14, 2008

Will do & thanks Ladies! Good to know I am not the only one to have this time of stuff during AF. Was stating to get paranoid that maybe something was wrong with my body & was not letting the blood flow correctly, lol! I need to stop stressing over everything:)))
