Katie, the reason why most RE's will cancel the cycle is because high order pregnancies can harm both the mother and the babies. Also with that many follicles, quads or more can occur.

Yeah but still.. there are alot of ppl that have 3-4 babies and are fine.

How often does that happen to where they have to cancel the cycle?

It depends on the RE. Katie, you can still BD if he cancels your cycle. He just wont do the IUI.

But if he is allowing you to have 4 follies on each ovary, then that is definitely more than enough. Most REs only want you to have like 4 at the most.

Oh ok.. he said that he wants 2-4 on each side so I assume thats good.

Even tho we only have a 2-3 % chance of conceving on our own could it still happen if he cancels the IUI? Would I still do the trigger shot if he cancels it?

If you O on your own, then you will still ovulate. You will have more than 1 follicle, so your chances of conceiving would increase. The trigger shot really wouldn't be needed.

kan.. he is giving me the shot anyways tho even tho I O on my own. Is that normal for him to do?

Yes, the shot is used for timing the IUI.
