"Yep, let me also add to this in that the clinical relevance to performing this exam is questionable at best. Many REs have abandoned this practice as for the most part it's has a poor diagnostic criteria, and treatment is also easily done with an IUI..
The test is basically performed by you having BD during your fertile days, you arrive at your doc's office, the doc gets some of the cervical mucus which contains sperm and simply looks at them under the microscope...What constitutes an abnormal test? Clearly if there's nothing moving, and the semen analysis was normal...then there's a problem but this is very rare...anything in between this...well up to almost anyone to determine what an "abnormal" test would wind up being..."
