Dr Q-dates for ovulating

I am on clomid cycle day 5-9, I have a 24 day cycle. If you aren't supposed to ovulate until a few days after your last clomid pill and then get your period 14 days after you ovulate then should I be taking the clomid earlier in my cycle? I have gotten my ultrasounds the past few months on day 12 or 13 and have shown mature follicles.
