Hello! I would really appreciate your input I'm very cofused. I had postive OPK on CD13 & 14, after that it went to negative on 15 and 16. Then I tested again on CD22 and it was a very strong positive (much darker than control line) and has been positive ever since (today last test, CD28). I know you recommend to stop testing after the first positive, but I didn't know that I just joined this site yesterday. Now I'm very curious to what's going on. Could the OPK be picking up progestrone? Or hcg? I did take 2 hpts and they were both negative. If the OPK is indeed picking up hcg, shouldn't an hpt have picked it up as well? I expect my period either today or tomorrow. Thank you so much in advance.

Sometimes, the brain during the luteal phase (after ovulation) can "squirt" out enough LH to trigger a positive OPK, and it does this to maintain Progesterone levels (kind of a complex process, but in a nutshell is kind of what's going on) Some OPKs can pick up hCG in high enough levels. Keep us posted on the hCG and ...
