Does tricare cover fertility tests or treatments?

I had a pap a month ago and since it was my 1st time with tricare they did an STD test as well and they told me I had chlamydia. I don't know how long I've had it. My husband is getting ready to deploy and I am terrified that I am now infertile. We would like to conceive before he deploys.

Does tricare cover the costs of tests to determine if my tubes are blocked? Or treatments after that determinatin is made?

You will have to check with your insurance company. Each plan within any insurance company is different and depends on what you/your employer/husband's employer has opted for. However, there are some states where infertility coverage is mandatory, do a google search to see if your state is one of them.

TriCare is insurance offered to individuals in the military and their dependents. Therefore, it works slightly different than private health insurance (hope that makes sense) Anyway, my understanding was that the military insurance (TriCare) does cover infertility, however, there was like a 2 year waiting list for IVF (the last I checked anyway..things change)

If I were you, I'd contact TriCare and ask them specifically what they cover in regards to fertility. You can also try to perform a google search on "Tricare and infertility". I personally think its best to contact them by phone.

I hope you get the information in which you were seeking.

Good Luck
