Does the Male determine the sex of a baby?

thats what I have heard (and learned in Child development classes). My DH is the only child and we are having a girl, so I guess it just depends on chance more so than genetics..

I would be happy with either, I'm just wondering if my DH will give me all boys... lol. My Father in law produced 3 boys, my brother in law however produced a boy and then and then a girl... I'm sure its chance as much as its genetics but I'm just soo curious as to what I'll have. I want a girl really bad, but I also want a boy! lol. I spend most of my time right now just wondering what sex this little baby will be. I can't find out until the end of March, so I'm trying to help pass the time... its not really working though haha

My step brother has all boys, and that's all my stepfather had. But I also have friends who have all girls when the DH's side was all boys. It's awesome how you just never know. I thought for sure we would have a boy, but God saw it otherwise. I am happy either way. I get to get my pink fix..lol

yea i know, i wish you could just pick. haha. I always wanted a boy first my whole life, but ever since I got pregnant I'm kind of leaning toward a girl, I see myself decorating easier for a girl and I love pink, and I just want that close connection that a mother has with her daughters...

The egg has 1/2 the genetic material is always an X chromosome. The sperm has the other 1/2 and is either an X or a Y.

If the resulting fertilized egg (zygote) is XX, it's female. If it's XY, it's male.

I have heard that men with only girls have a higher incidence of prostate issues. So, clearly, there is some sort of connection to men's health and the variety of swimmers they make.
