cycle buddies? CD5 and clomid?

September 17, 2008

I am CD 5 today. I started Clomid on CD 3 and will go through CD 7. Really would like anyone to talk to and keep in touch through this cycle? Anyone close to this cycle wanna chat?

September 24, 2008

Hi Bobbij- I am currently CD5 3round of clomid at 50mg CD4-8 because I had my prescription called in a day late. My 1st time I was taking clomid CD5-9 and I had a chemical and so I asked to be switch to CD3-7 I did last month but still no preggo. Its weird tho because I didn't really have a full flow and my cycle always last 3days. It was like I spotted moderately for 3days and on the 3rd day it started to fade away around lunch time so I don't know if its the clomid or what but I don't seem to have any issues with Ovulating and my progesterone has been 19.8-18-30 so I just don't know what is going on. I had the dr to check my ovaries for cyts or any polyps because I had a polyp removal in 2006 and I got preggo immediately after that and lost it at 10 weeks. and it took me 6months to get preggo again and I lost it 5weeks. I keep having my dr to check my ovaries because for over 10 years of TTC with my DH and never no one saw a polyp and I get mad sometimes because I keep up with my health and body and for no other dr to see this up until I went to a specialist in 2006. I blessed that I can get preggo but why is it not happening for me......

PeeJay,

Hi, and thanks for the post. I am sooo sorry about your losses. Just remember that god has big plans for all of us, and reasons for everything, even when we don't know them! :) Stay positive, and I can completely understand what u are saying about possible polyps or cysts. I have had both, I have had my left ovary removed due to a cyst that I had on it, as well as countless surgeries to remove cysts from my right ovary as well. After every surgery I feel soooo much better!!! and got preggo right away as well. So, this is my first round of clomid, and im on metformin as well, which seems to be helping. I go in tomorrow for a follicle screen, and see what dr. says then... I did O this month for the first time in a LONG time :) so goodluck to you and lots of babydust!

Thank you, goodluck to you too! :)

Hi Bobbi (Peejay and majuntch)- I'm cd5, on my third round of clomid. I was started on 100mg on my first cycle, but couldn't tolerate the side effects, so I dropped down to 50mg for the last couple of days that cycle, and have been on 50mg ever since. I O on my own, the doc is just hoping the clomid will give me an extra boost. We will see! I go in for my cd12 follie study next Friday, and hopefully there are piles of happy ripe eggs just waiting to be released! Good luck to all of you, and *babydust*!

majuntch...

Follie studies are necessary for IVF, certainly. They are optional of IUI and totally unneccessary for naturaly TTC.

September 25, 2008

Hi BobbiJ-

I am on CD 3 today, almost 4. I will be starting Clomid on CD 5 and going thru CD 9. I O on my own, but doc wants to use Clomid just as an extra boost. My progesterone level w/o meds was ok at 12.8, but it should be a little higher. I didn't use OPK's last month, but plan to this cycle...and also going for my 21 day blood test to check progesterone levels.

Good luck to you and all the other ladies here! Baby DusT!!

September 25, 2008

James, thanks for the goodluck, goodluck to you to and all of our other lovely fertility ties woman on here. They are all amazing! Do you usually get a follie test? or just the blood test to check progesterone?

September 25, 2008

Majun, I am new to the whole follie test thing. I go for my first in the morning, and am kinda scared, have no idea what it is, or if its really necessary, sure wished the dr.s nurse would have explained more, but she just scheduled it and that was that. I will be there at 8:30 in the morning. This is my first round of clomid, but I am on metformin as well. I have PCOS and have only my right ovary too, so this makes it all kind of hard to conceive... hoping for the best for tomorrow. GOODLUCK! :)

September 25, 2008

Meg.s thanks for the comments :) GOODLUCK to you as well. Have you had the follie study done before? This is my first time tomorrow and don't know what to expect! Goodluck and hopefully there will be lots of eggs waiting:)

September 25, 2008

bobbij....

follie study is an internal ultrasound. They stick a probe (about the size of a skinny hotdog) into your vagina. They use it to look at your vaginal lining and your ovaries.

Super simple, not usually painful. Be sure to pee before cuz if you have any urine in your bladder, it'll be harder to locate the ovaries.

September 25, 2008

Thanks Majun, goodluck to you and lots of baby dust for you too!

September 25, 2008

This is melissa,

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR telling me what I was getting myself into tomorrow. I have had those ultrasounds done a thousand times, due to PCOS and lots of cysts, so I am used to a vaginal ultrasound. Thanks for letting me know about peeing to, because they usually have me drink tons of water and then NOT pee before the ultrasound. this time they didn't say anything, so that is really helpful! thank you so much and goodluck! hey do you know what the follicles "should" measure at?

September 26, 2008

BobbiJ-

I have had several done, none were painful...I have PCOS, so during the diagnosis process, it became routine. Then on my first round of Clomid I did it as well. It was neat to see all those eggies there!!

September 26, 2008

Hey James, I am on cd2,on 100mg cd3-7, but if my doctor doesn't get in touch with me until Monday then I will start cd5. This is my 4th round of clomid but I took a 2 month break after the third round and took bc to regulate on my own, but the doc said he still want me to take clomid even though I have been off the bc for two weeks. He said the clomid will make me ovulate so it don't matter, but my hopes aren't up for this month.

September 26, 2008

good luck erica

September 26, 2008

Majuntuc - I O on my own, but when my OB put me on clomid he told me that I would need to come in once a month (about mid cycle or a little before) for a follie study. He told me that since I O on my own, they need to make sure that they don't overstimulate my ovaries, and apparently that is the rationale for the ultrasound. It's cool to be able to see all of the little eggies waiting to be released=).

BobbiJ - How'd your follie study go? Lots of eggs? And definitely not scary or painful, right? Mine have never been painful=)

September 26, 2008

Meg, I posted about my follie study earlier, but this is how it went, I have 1 follicle that is 1 1/2 centimeters. I am cd15 and he says he likes to see them atleast 2 at this point. So I am bummed about that! He went to check my left ovary, and said, oh yeah you don't have one lol... so he told me to still time bd every other day for the next 5-7 days for sure, then whenever after that. He gave me the paperwork to get a blood progesterone level on cd23, and said we would go from there, but he thinks he will have to bump up my clomid for next cycle to 100 mg. So I don't know what to think, Dr. Q said 1.5 is getting close to mature, so that made me feel a little better, what do you think about the size? Do I still have a chance of Getting pregnant this cycle?

September 29, 2008

Hi everyone I am CD10 took my last comid pill saturday. Normally I will ovulate around 7-10 days after the last pill so I will start testing on Tuesday to see how soon I will get a BFP OPK. I am praying its sooner than 10 days so I can start BDing already all of this waiting is hetic on the membrane and not at all healthy (lol).I really pray this cycle we all get a BFP especially me because I have truly being TTC for over 10 yrs on and off with DH and with all of the mess been going on in our marriage for the past 4 yrs and my DH not living in the same house with me has been HELL! Yes my Dh and I are separated without being totally separated if you get it and we are trying to work on our marriage from a distance but it doesn't seem to working so well but I will have faith and keep it because I know God didn't bring us this far to let us go just yet. Anyway Baby Dust to you all*********:)

September 29, 2008

Peejay, goodluck with everything, hope you get a BFP!!!

September 30, 2008

Thanks hun and same for you*********

October 02, 2008

Hi ladies - how's everyone doing? I went in early for my follie study (yesterday on cd 10), and I have three nice large contenders - 2 on the left and one on the right. I wouldn't mind one bit if more than one of them happened to be ovulated and fertilized this time. Hopefully we will get lucky this month=). This is my third cycle of clomid, so I asked my doc when I could or should move on to more invasive measures (different meds, IUI), but he told me that since he was able to unblock my tubes back in July when he did my HSG, he thinks that I will get pregnant without the help of IUI, and is urging me to be patient. . . so I guess it's a waiting game!

The one negative this month for me is that my DH is having shoulder surgery tomorrow, so BD'ing during our fertile time this month will be more of a challenge. . . either that or I will have to get more creative!

Good luck this month ladies, and babydust to you all!!!
