could i be pregnant

my period was due on june 1st and hasn't arrived yet. my husband and i had just started seriously talking about having a family and i had bought the ovulation tests but never used them. i was on the pill for about ten years as i had very sore and very heavy periods. i came off it when we got married in december 2006. my period is now 14 days late. ive done about 7 hpts all negative. i had one blood test last monday june 2nd also negative although i have been having cramps in my tummy like there is something going on down there. i am also peeing alot and having alot of headaches. my tummy is also bloated but my breasts are not sore although they were tender a little. i had one ovarian ectopic pregnancy in 2007 and lost half of my right ovary, by the way that was with my first husband. i have been reading alot of articles from women who didn't discover they were pregnant till maybe 2 or three months later and all their tests were negative. i am going out of my head with frustration and was wondring if there is a chance i am pregnant even if hcg doesn't show up on urine or blood tests

It could be that you misjudged your cycle by a few days and that your hcg levels arent high enough to be detected yet. Make sure you test with first morning urine, and if you don't get your period soon I would call your doctor.

Hi Pauline,

Michele is right, if your hCG is not present, then you're not pregnant...chances are you didn't ovulate on time when expect, as the only thing we know about a menstrual cycle is that once one ovulates, one can expect a period about 14days later unless pregnant...

You can tell if you've ovulated by checking a Progesterone level or a BBT..

Pauline, I am in the same boat. My period was due June 3, and I had a blood test done on June 9 and got negative results. I will be 2 weeks late on Tuesday. I have never skipped a period before but my progesterone check on June 9 suggested that I didn't ovulate at all. I am going to my doc on 6/20 if AF dosn't come on her own he said he may give me Provera to induce a period. I was sure I ovulated because around the time I usually ovulate my breasts started hurting and have been ever since. I usually ovulate CD18-CD20 and I am now on CD43! With no signs of a period!

I too have been reading articles where women were getting negative blood tests until a few months into pregnancy. It's driving me crazy!

These stories you read are untrue. Just like Michelle wrote the reason that this happens is that women are not keeping track of their ovulation. You can ovulate anytime during your cycle. Even if you have normally ovulated in the past you can have a cycle you don't even ovulate and that can be caused by many reasons: stress, hormones levels, PCOS all of this is done via signals from your brain. The best way to make sure you are ovulating is using opk's. When you get +opk you will ovualte within 12 to 36 hrs. Implatation can occur 6 to 10 days passed ovulation. At this time a hormone called hcg begins producing in your body. That is what hpt's and beta (blood test) pick up.

yes its untrue abt not detecting pregnancy 2-3 months. Dont beleive stories out there on the internet..u will get a + blood test 14 DPO.
