I had an ultrasound(pelvic, and transvaginal) the other day, I am waiting on the results of it. Would this test help determine any problems with fertility. My doctor won't perform the lap surgery, she seems to think I don't have endo. But I have been living with this pain every month for 10 years. She wants me to try to conceive for 1 year before she will do any tests.
Thanks so much for your help!

Believe it or not, it is controversial wheather mild endometriosis creates infertility to begin with. Most of us clinicians do believe, however, that it does affect fertility to a certain degree, however. We know that severe endometriosis can mechanically close tubes, and it sounds like your's may be severe, given the extent of your symptoms. It may be wise then to at least get an HSG to confirm your tubes are open. If they are, you can continue trying on your own and if then you don't get pregnant, consider getting surgery with immediate fertility treatments form an RE done right afterwards to gain a "maximal" benefit from surgery.
