Clomid Side Effects, when do they start?

Sunset

February 08, 2009

today on CD5 I had my first pill of clomid...50 mg.

I read that there could be some side-effects.

I took the pill in the afternoon and so far, feel no difference whatsoever.

For those who had symptoms, did it start immediately after you took the pill?

Hi ttcbaby#1,

Today is my first go at clomid as well. Many on the sight have suggested taking it in the evenings to sleep through any side effects it may have. Let's hope we don't have any side effects.

Lots of baby dust to you during your process!

hey waiting....

Today was my 3rd day on Clomid...and touchwood....no sideeffects whatsoever! Dont even know if the medication is working.

I have to go in for an ultrasound on Friday (CD10). Let's see what shows up on the monitor.

I have only done one round of clomid (50mg) and had absolutely no side effects at all, and I was a good responder. So having no side effects apparently has nothing to do with how well you respond. Hope you continue to feel great.

I had my first round of clomid (50mg) last month, I ovulated on day 14 and had absolutely no side effects. I took my pill right before bed so if I had any I'm sure I slept right through them :) I will be starting my second month of clomid tomorrow. Hopefully this month we'll get pregnant :) Best of luck to everyone on here!

hi ladies,

I did many cycles of clomid. got preg w/ my daughter 2nd round of 50mg 3 years ago. when on 50mg, no major bad S/E - just woke up a lot during the night.

now TTC$2 - did about 6 cycles but we increased to 100mg and had major issues w/ sleeping and very hormonal/emotional. I did get preg on 4th cycle - but it was a chemical preg. I think the longer i was on it, the harder the S/E were. It can help, so keep trying it.

Good luck to all of you!!!

ttcbaby#1-I did not get pregnant on my first round, but my RE decided to keep my dose the same (there was even talk of lowering it to 25mg from 50mg) because I responded so well (2 mature follicles, 2 almost mature and a decent lining)

I just started my second round today.

Good luck and let me know what you see when you go in for your u/s

I successfully completed 5 days of Clomid without any side-effects :)

In today's ultrasound they saw 2 follicles....one 13 mm and the other 11 mm....I've been asked to go for another ultrasound on sunday.....

let's see what happens.

so what exactly are you ladies doing? just clomid or clomid with IUI?

Hi ttcbaby#1! I've done 2 rounds of clomid so far. First was 50mg and the second was 100mg. With the first the only side effect I had was hot flashes, but they really weren't that bad. However on the 100mg, I had severe nausea and hot flashes! I also did get a little moody, but not too bad (or at least I didn't think I was). The nausea came while I was actually taking the clomid, but the hot flashes long after I was done taking it. I did O either time also :-(

Now I'm on Metformin and will start taking clomid (yippie) again. I went to an RE yesterday and was diagnonsed with PCOS.

Good luck!
