I have one blocked fallopian tube, found out through HSG. I ovualte fine on my own, based on OPK and BBT. But, my dominant ovary is on the blocked tube side. My RE wants to start me on injectables and IUI, with ultrasound monitoring. I have severe fear of needles, let alone having to inject myself. So, we have decided to do Clomid and IUI with ultrasound monitoring. I am paying for everything out of pocket. Do you think it is a waste of money for me to do clomid/IUI? Have you ever seen anyone with one fallopian tube blockage and get pregnant with Clomid/IUI? Also, I am 34 years old. My periods used to be 27-32 days, but lately for the past 3 months, my periods have become 38 days long.

If you are fearful of needles, Follistim (Organon) and Gonal-F (Serono) have made very nice injectable pens...really, they look just like a pen and you click them just like one to get your medication on board. The biggest complaint I get from patients using their pens is that they really feel like they never injected themselves...it's basically almost that pain-free and unintimidating.
Although you can still get pregnant using Clomid, chances are low given your circumstance, and would strongly suggest that you purchase one of these pens because when you get pregnant...it'll all be worth it!
