Well.. he's here! He was born at 10:33 PM Yesterday, May 24th. He weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 20 inches long! Wow! Thats huge considering I still had 2 weeks til my due date!
We came in Friday night, I was given cervidel... I didn't dilate overnight. They started Pitocin yesterday at 11 am.. and by 6 or so I still was only at just over 1 cm dilated and 85% effaced. I wasn't progressing at all and I was hardly feeling the contractions. My midwife decided to come in and break my water. Around 6:30 pm, I was on the phone with my Uncle when I felt a pop like a huge gas bubble in my stomach. It actually hurt and it scared me. I got up to pee, and as soon as I went to sit on the toilet, I realized my water had broken, as it poured everywhere!! I immediately had a contraction I thought was going to kill me... and they continued to come like every 1-2 minutes.... I ended up getting my epidural in really quick... so I only felt the bad ones for about 30 minutes. Then, I fell asleep for 2 hours.. and my midwife came back to check my cervix... I was completely dilated and effaced and his head was already down in the birth canal! she had me turn off the epidural just enough to loose enough numbness to feel pressure so I knew when to push... and then after about 1/2 an hour of pushing.. out he came! I watched the whole delivery in a mirror behind my midwife... it was so awesome..... I only tore a tiny bit, mainly on the inside, in two places... just barely required a few stitches....
So.. I'm sore.. but doing great.. happy.. finally took a shower and wearing normal clothes... baby is good... sleeping right now.. dreaming about something! Here's some pics and I'm going to try to attach a video.. don't know if it will work.. we'll see..
