If you've had previous pregnancies before, this is not uncommon...but if any questions, make sure a professional examines the cervix just to make sure
cervix at 29 weeks

hi , could you possibly tell me how my cervix should be at 29 weeks, it feels very soft and open, i have been having a dull back ache for past 2 days on and off and just feel odd , sounds silly i know.
this is my 3rd baby and my 2 older children were born at 38 weeks and 39 weeks , could i be at risk that my cervix is getting ready for labour to soon, please help ! thankyou xx

i called the midwife and she asked me to go into hospital for full service ..lol
she put me and baby on heart monitor and monitored my womb for contractions even tho i said i wasnt in labour.. all was ok, louis heart rate was fine so he was ok and my womb was not contracting apart from strong braxton hicks, she examined my cervix ( not nice..lol) and i am 2cm dilated, but i am dilating like a funnel so the outter part of cervix is dilated but the inner part , where my mucus plug is is still closed as she could only get her finger tip in. she said i was to rest and not do anything silly like vacume stairs n stuff( no stretching) she said labour when it does happen will be super fast so i am to go in at my first pain. my blood preasure and urine tests were all good too, i feel much better now, thanks for your support ladies and thankyou for your advice dr xxxx love to you all xxx

UPDATE:
now 31 weeks had check up and cervix has opened a little more, im closer to 3 cm now and the doc could push in further so i am a lil worried ,doc never relly said much just said im to be checked every 2 weeks! he could only get the tip of finger in b4 but now he can get aprox 1 1/2 cm into cervix, i was so hot and bothered i was scared and stupidly never asked any questions about it, but as he never admitted me for obs or put a stich in im just gonna take it easy and rest up until i go next visit. my mucus plug is still there so thats good but i feel the braxton hics are alot stronger , and sometimes feel slight af cramps. weird but hey lol thats me!
i just hope im not so fast with labour i dont make the delivery suite, lol my other 2 births were over in 2 1/2 hours and they r saying this one will be faster due to cervix being part open already, i live 20 minutes from hopspital in no traffic, should be intesresting anyway lol love you all and will let u know how things go incase anyone ever has the same things happen to them, least they can read this and compare or somethig..lol xxxxxxxx
