Cervical mucous

November 12, 2007

My RE told me I had poor cervical mucous due to overstimulation on clomid. He based that only on obsevation not testing. Does that mean there no hope for pregnancy this cycle? I had 8 follicles for ovulation, do you think there's a chance even with poor mucous? I am very dissapointed about this. Thanks

Have you tried preseed? Its the lube that is supposed to help the swimmers head north. Also, it might be too late for this cycle, but what about trying Musonex 2 x a day to thin out your mucous?? Is it to late for an iui?? B/c that would bypass the mucous anyways.....Good luck!

I have not tried that, but if I am not pregnant this month than I will try it next cycle. I am 3 dpo so I am in the 2ww. Do you know if pregnancy is possible even with poor mucous? Thanks for your quick response.

I honestly don't know....sorry......

Hope for the best & don't give up hope!!!!

Just out of curiosity, did he/she check it after you have been b/dancing a lot? B/c maybe all the b/ding dried you up a bit????? Its so hard to say, you know!?

November 12, 2007

I hope that's what it is. It kind of makes sense that it could dry you up.

That's what I was thinking b/c on mornings after we b/d, its hard to check cervical mucous. I'm on clomid 50 mg, and I haven't had any poor mucous yet, but I figured Mucinex and drinking lots of water would only help.....:-)

November 12, 2007

I am going to do that next month with the preseed. (If I'm not pregnant)

November 12, 2007

I've only used it on the days I had too last month...but dh and I both really liked it!!!

Good luck, hopefully you won't have to worry about it!

November 12, 2007

I am praying that we won't have to worry about it. Thanks for all your information and support. I am not sure where you are in your journey, but pray that things work out for you as well.

November 12, 2007

Your welcome. We are ttc baby #2. We have a 2 yr old son. This second baby is going on trying 16 long months, just had a chemical preg. last month :-( Good luck to you, too!!!!!!!

November 12, 2007

I am so sorry about your chemical pregnancy. I will pray that this month it works out.

November 12, 2007

Thank you soooooo much!

There's still hope, and Kelli's advice is awesome :) just wanted to interject and ask your RE to give you Letrozole instead of clomid if not pregnant for next month because of the possible cervical mucus impact clomid had, but we hope you truly will be pregnant this month :)

Good luck, and keep us posted...

hey!

I'm sure it is possible to get pregnant with not great Cm, but don't count yourself out. The body is amazing and maybe those little swimmers are very forceful!! :) The CM just helps.....take care and baby dust to you!

November 12, 2007

Thanks Dr.Q and Kelli! Great advice and thanks again for the support.

November 12, 2007

When I was prescribed the clomid I never took, my Dr gave me an Estrogen supplement to be taken from CD 11 3 times a day about 27 pills (not sure abt the number). She said that will help with the CM since I was complaining I didnt see any.

November 12, 2007

I will have to ask about the estrogen supplement and the letrozole.

November 12, 2007

Doesn't estrogen make the uterine lining thicken up? My lining looked good. If so, why wouldn't it improve cervical mucous as well w/o supplementation? Thanks Fran for the support and HopeN for the estrogen suggestion.

November 12, 2007

Estrogen does improve your lining and mucus...However, sometimes Clomid can block the Estrogen from working on the endometrial lining along with the mucus...hence the previous recommendation.. Hope this info helps, and sending you some...
