CD 9 - November 6, 08

November 06, 2008

Anybody coming up on O? Seems to be rapidly approaching for me. Another month....what to do? So I'm thinking baby aspirin for my lining and OPK's to try to pinpoint things. Followup with RE on Tues so that we can talk about my bloodwork that was done last week on CD3 and my HSG done on Monday.

It's time to get pregnant already. I am holding on (tightly I might add) to the idea that some ladies get pregnant after HSG's. The RE mentioned that on Monday right after test and right after he told me that I had a picture perfect uterus and skinny little tubes, just what they want to see!!!

I even asked if it's all so perfect, why am I not pregnant?! Getting frustrated and old.

**** bump for those close in cycle ****

November 07, 2008

Hello. I am on CD 13. I had the HSG done and they said the same thing and I wonder why I am not pregnant either. I am 22 mths of ttc.

I have heard that it is easier to get pg after HSG...so good luck.

I am trying baby aspirin too. I have been to a RE and had alot of tests done. I am scheduled for the lap next mth.

GOOD LUCK maybe the HSG will help you.

Oh I also do accupuncture and herbs with them now.

I will try anything I guess.

November 07, 2008

Bunny, lots of similarities. How long ago did you have your HSG?

I am curious about the accupuncture too. Have you been doing that for long?

I'm willing to try anything myself!!! Good Luck to you too. Loads of babydust.

November 08, 2008

I had my HSG done yesterday, and it was a harrowing experience for me. They suspect I've got a blocked tube, unfortunately. Seems like we'll have to hold of on BD until the bleeding stops. I'm not in much pain today, thankfully.

November 08, 2008

Rae-I had my HSG in June 2008. I did not have any blocked tubes. But I have a retroverted (tipped uterus) and they struggled getting the catheter in. It was not fun. A tipped uterus sits backwards instead of forwards and is not that common. I hope yours was better than mine.

I love the accupuncture. It can hurt bc it is needles being stuck in you BUT it is relaxing in the end. I have a lot of stress in my life over things that have happened over the last yr and a half so I know it at least helps me relax. I am like you open to anything. I started doing it in August. I just started the herbs and I know they are working somewhat bc I notice how tired I am...I think it makes me more aware. I have not slept much and I am noticing that now. You should at least look into the accupuncture some insurance covers it. Mine does not but it is still cheaper then all the infertility meds.

Sorry I babbled. I hope I helped a little and good luck if you try any of it. I hope your appt goes well Tues.

November 08, 2008

KCS-I am sorry about the blocked tube. Were they able to clear it with the HSG? I hope it was not too painful for you. I had to hold off on BD for at least 72 hrs bc of bleeding and pain. The thought of it at the time made me run for the hills anyway...LOL.

I hope you get to feeling better and they can help you out. Hugs to you.

November 08, 2008

Seems like the bleeding has stopped now ... what a relief! I was kinda surprised at all the blood on the table when I got off. Couldn't get to the car quickly enough. I just wanted to get out of there fast. I suppose I'd have felt worse if I didn't take the painkillers beforehand. It's a good thing I took them.

No, they weren't able to clear the blocked tube. The doc asked me which side I'd felt the pain on, and I couldn't even tell. To me, the pain was all over. If I ever have another HSG ... it won't be too soon! I'll be seeing my regular doc on Monday to hear what he has to say.

November 08, 2008

KCS - glad to hear the bleeding stopped. I had a wee bit of spotting when I wiped but it was hardly noticable. I did notice that the first time that I went to the bathroom there was some significant blood but just that once.

Looking forward to hearing what your Dr tells you about your tube Monday. Keep us updated. As I mentioned earlier, my follow up is Tues. What CD are you?

Bunny, I was pretty fortunate with my HSG, I've been told in that past that my uterus is very slightly tipped and the RE mentioned something about "it may not be seated right" right before they started taking pictures but once they got things on the screen he said "we're in good shape" that was a big relief because I thought he was going to have to "reclamp and recatheter" which was the crampy part of the procedure. At that point I was thinking OK nevermind, don't need this done afterall!!! It ended up being not so bad. Whew....

Babydust to both of you. CD11 for me today.

November 08, 2008

Reclamp and recatheter????? Oh man, that would be a nightmare!! The doc said he had a bit of trouble finding my cervix. I'm sooooo glad it's over. If I ever have to have another one, I'm definitely asking for some local anaesthetic.

Rae, we're on exactly the same cycle once more. Today is also CD11 for me. I've got some 3 days before ovulation day.

November 08, 2008

Hi Rae... I haven't had an HSG... but I am CD20 5DPO today :) My OPK's showed a huge Positive last Monday... I am taking a Baby Aspirin as well. Hoping for a BFP on my HPT next weekend!

November 09, 2008

Good Luck Maggie. Babydust to you.

November 10, 2008

Hi guys! I am joining you from the last thread. I am only cd 4 today. Trying a natrual cycle this month. Hopefully in about 14 days I will ovulate. :) Hope you are all doing well.

November 10, 2008

Christina - I'm taking the "natural" approach myself. I do have followup with RE tommorrow so that we can talk about bloodwork and HSG. Looking forward to hearing what she has to say but once again not sure where we will go from here as far as meds are concerned. (If she even recommends them)

November 10, 2008

good luck at your appt. Rae! Let us know what you find out.

November 10, 2008

hi girls- came over from the old thread. I'm cd7. So what does the baby asperin do? I've heard people mention it before , but never asked. If there's a chance it will help, I'll jump on the band wagon. I hope this is the month for EVERYONE. All that pain should equall some BFPs.

BABYDUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

November 11, 2008

Some women may possibly have a clotting disorder and the baby aspirin is supposed to help thin the blood. I also have high blood pressure so my doctor thought that may be a benefit.

I've heard that in later pregancy it can cause placenta abruption and not to take it then. But in early pregnancy, up to 20 weeks, I've heard it is good. But def ask your doctor first.

You can search baby aspirin on this site and there are a lot of stories.

November 11, 2008

CD14 and a pretty major update on me!!! RE followup today. Bloodwork was good, she is checking TSH (Thyroid # on the high side) but that wont affect conception only potential pregnancy according to Dr. HSG was good. Ultrasound and lining good. Why no pregnancy?? Unexplained. So I'm taking the meds. Clomid for 5 days, Ovridel shot after CD12 ultrasound, and IUI all this cycle!!!! I'm optimistic. I just won't do it more than 3 times. I have made that decision. I will take it cycle by cycle but no more than 3. (Now mind you, this is coming from a person that wasn't even going to try meds!!!)

I'm secretly hoping that we don't get it here. I'm hoping that I'm one of those lucky ladies that gets PG after HSG and I won't have to take this next step. It is nice to have a backup plan though!!

I was taking the baby aspirin because I heard it helped the lining. They did a transvaginal ultrasound today and at CD14 mine had 3 stripes and was 8.4 which was supposedly really good. Can't contribute that to the aspirin though because I only took it for a couple of days last month.

November 12, 2008

Rae, looks like things are good with you for TTCing. :)

I was wondering, did you have any leakage of dye after your HSG? I was talking with someone today who said that if the dye runs back out, there's most likely a blockage. I had absolutely none of the dye leak out after ... all I had was bright red blood spotting. I don't even know what the dye looks like.

Like you, I'm also hoping for a BFP this cycle. The way I'm feeling, I suspect I'll get a positive OPK today. DH and I BD'ed last night just in case.

November 12, 2008

Glad to hear your results were so good Rae! I agree... it would be much better for us too if we get bfp during our "break" and don't have to move on to the next step.

November 12, 2008

Hey ladies! Have not seen you all since Sept's cycle so hope everyone is doing ok:) I'm CD10 today & not really TTC this month due to kidney stones, blah!

Rea it is good to hear that you had the HSG & are going to try the clomid! What CD are you? I am prob going to be back on clomid next cycle (assuming all is well with the kidneys by then, lol) & also doing the trigger shot. Hope you don't need it & get your BFP but would be great if we were close in cycle while taking the meds :) Good luck this month & BFP Dust coming your way!

November 12, 2008

KCS- Like you I had some bright red blood at the first bathroom run after the procedure. I noticed a little bit of old blood when I wiped for the next couple of days actually but it was really minor. I'm not sure if all RE's use the same dye but the Dr that did my procedure actually told me that the dye is clear and very sticky, he mentioned that when he was explaining the procedure. OK, hope this isn't TMI but immediately following the procedure he handed me a majorly large pad to use and I didn't because it was huge and by the time I got to the elevator in the parking garage I wished that I had! I had gushed. I was thinking that was the clear dye because it was the consistency of a lubricant and clear.

Wendy, I am CD15 today. I'm so glad to hear from you it's been forever. Sorry to hear about the kidney stones. Are you in pain? I hope not. I really hope that you can get back on track for next cycle. How is everything else? Hard to believe Little Miss I'm Not Taking Medicine is taking medicine and going for the IUI!!!! After a long talk with RE I feel less scared for sure.

Come on Christina, BFP's!!!!! Being able to avoid the next step would be awesome!!!

November 12, 2008

Hey Rea!, I didn't catch that you were going to do IUI next cycle too! That's great! Bringing out the big guns, lol! Don't think I am ready for that yet, but very anxious to try the clomid again-I feel like the trigger shot is gonna really at least make me FEEL like we have a better shot, ya know? Last time on clomid with the Dr that I really did not like, I never even knew if the clomid was working or not...I am feeling pretty good, all pain from the stones has stopped, but I do not know till I go in for another xray if I passed any of them or not so we will see...Looks like you will be a bit ahead of me next cycle, IF you have a next cycle ;) Good luck!

November 13, 2008

Rae, thanks for replying. This may be TMi, but there was blood on the table too after I got off. I never had any stickiness, or felt a gush of anything come out ... ever. I had to reschedule my doctor's visit for this coming Monday. Got my positive OPK yesterday, and I'm feeling little twinges today. I'm just hoping and praying that this month will be a good one. :)

November 14, 2008

Hope everyone is hanging in there. Skimming posts. I am so hoping to get my BFP this cycle bc I really do not want to do the lap next month. Being a nurse I am fearful of surgery. But we will cross that bridge. I am not too hopeful this cycle but we will see. Rather bummed...I can not believe it will be 2 yrs in Jan. On top of that I can not even ttc next cycle so this is it or I will get that 24 month time frame.

Hope everyone is doing well. Good Luck and hoping for BFPS this cycle.

Take care.

November 14, 2008

Hi Angela! I really hope you get your BFP this month too... BUT very glad to see you so often on this post :) HUGS :) Hopefully you will be posting some good news soon.

I have been laying low, trying to not think about ttc and hoping that I Ovulate this cycle.

You guys are pretty much all in the 2ww right? How's everyone else's cycle going?
