cd 21 progesterone check

My Dr. scheduled me for a progesterone on cd21 and I got a +opk on cd16. That is only 5dpo and I heard that the results are best at 7dpo or 8dpo. By doing it 5dpo can they still tell if I ovualated and what number is good to have?
At 5 DPO they would be able to tell u if u ovulated or not. Progesterone value > 5 ng/ml (sometimes 3) indicates ovulation. Mine was 4.2 ng/ml 4 DPO and my nurse and Dr were certain I didnt ovulate. I did OPKs and got a + CD 20 so I was sure and my Dr was eventually convinced and I got preggo that month too.
Some Drs say a progesterone value >10 ng/ml is good enough and some say > 15 ng/ml. So, depends on what stds ur Dr goes by.
