Dana thank you... I was feeling like I was the only one that this happened to... I haven't read anything like this happening before... I am glad that means I will probably still ovulate this month then... Thank God!
Cancelled Clomid IUI Cycle
May 27, 2008
Hello,
I had an IUI that didn't work last month, so I went in on Sunday morning, (2nd day of cycle) and they did a baseline ultrasound. It showed that I had 1 cyst on my right ovary that measured 25... so the dr said that I would not be taking clomid this month, and that we should just try on our own. Why can't we go ahead and just do the clomid and IUI? I don't understand why the cyst messes it up. My dr said that the cyst is not dangerous or anything.
Also, he said that I have 9 follicles on my other ovary... Will all of those follices produce an egg? Will none of them produce an egg because of the cyst? Do I have a chance to get pregnant on our own this month because of the cyst?
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Jamie

Yeah if you normally do ovulate on your own then you still should is what my RE told me. I just get tired of getting that negative OPK. I'm like come on already!! LOL... Another quick note. My bestfriend is 5 months pregnant. She had 2 failed injection/clomid IUI cycles, got a cyst and had to take a month off then got pregnant the very next IUI cycle. I'm going to do my last injection/IUI cycle in June for awhile. I think I'll still do clomid and maybe a trigger shot but I can't afford to keep doing this every cycle. And not to mention the emotional rollercoaster it's got me on. So i'm praying we get lucky either this natural cycle or next IUI cycle. Hey what cycle day are you on?
Today is day 5... I've got a long way to go... and I don't normally ovulate until like day 18 or 19. So, I will just take the OPK's and keep on I guess. I was thinking that when I finally tried the IUI that it would be like magic and work right away. I was very disapointed that it didn't. Not to mention my DH, I think that he took it harder than me. I was having to cheer him up! But with God's help, I am not as discouraged as I would be without him. I know it will happen, I just wish it was NOW! :o) I will be praying for you Dana, for your BFP!!!
Food for thought.... My 1st cycle with an RE, 50mg of clomid and IUI, Progesterone right at 15, BFN! My 2nd cycle, did Gonal F injections and 100mgs of clomid. Got BFP, progesterone over 40. Found out later it was twins. I miscarried one at 7wks and one at 8wks. Cycle #3 was this last cycle with Injections, clomid and IUI, BFN - AF came right on time. So that's where I'm at. Went in as you know on CD3 and had a cyst. So I'm hoping the next one is the lucky lucky one. 3rd time is a charm I hope on Injections. I'm going to be like you and not ovualate this round till CD18 or CD19. Hopefully that means I will see a positive OPK here shortly. We are not too far apart, I'm only on CD14. Sure feel like forever, doesn't it?!?
