Can you tell how many eggs were released based on progesterone levels?

December 02, 2008

I had my progesterone tested on CD 26 and it was 123.73! The nurse said this was very good and I should take a HPT if no AF by CD32. My questions is, from that number, can I know how many eggs were released? Does a higher progesterone number mean you had a higher chance of conception?

Hi - I dont know to be honest, but mine was only 25 on CD21 and I was prego, so best of luck!!

No, you can not tell how many eggs were released based on progesterone levels. Also, the higher the progesterone levels does not mean that you have a higher chance of conception.

It is likely that you released more than 1 egg, but no way to know for sure unless you had an ultrasound around ovulation. I had a really high progesterone level one month and then another month I had an ultrasound and had 8 eggs ready to ovulate, but I didn't get my progesterone checked. I didn't get pregnant though.

Hi ongratulations on the prego!! wonderful news. Jenn I wouldnt worry in the least about 17 mine as only 25 and if you allow for margin of error (all labs vary slightly) we are more or less the same. I am now 18 week prego so dont worry!
