Can the doctor tell if you've lost your mucous plug?

Meghan.. yes she can tell if u lost ur mucous plug. When u lost it then labor will be close behind that.

I never noticed when I lost mine. My water broke on my own so I dont know when I lost mine.

my next appt is monday afternoon.... if I make it that long.. I really just want to go into labor before then... :)

Meghan.. that is good that ur next appt is Monday. Have u been walking or doing anything to help it out? How are the contractions coming along?

I've been doing TONS of walking..and finally able to have sex again... so some of that.. and nipple stim.. that really seems to help start contractions... but they don't want to keep going on their own!

Thats the prob katie, they aren't as strong as they were before... and I want them to be! Haha.. :)

Meghan.. aww I am sorry. I know that ur ready to have him and now that u can he is not working with u.

I would just keep doing what ur doing and hope that it helps.

I do have a suggestion tho. I drank castrol oil with my daughter and it work. I only drank alittle but of it. But I do have to tell u that it makes u really sick to ur stomache. It doesnt hurt the baby. It does make them slippery when it is time to push. I have had alot of ppl tell me that when I was preggo so that it why I did it.

Im not telling u what to do just giving u another suggestion.

I have actually been told they can site you with child abuse/neglect now for using castor oil. It actually affects the baby's digestive system, and can cause the baby to pass meconium! (This is just recent stuff I've researched.. b/c the whole castor oil thing was sounding really really good to me!)

I appreciate the suggestion though!! :o) Its a tough one not to do, b/c it works so well for so many people, but with the new risks they are finding.. I'm too chicken to do it! Maybe I should ask dr Q to find out if the stuff I've researched is legit?

I was ready to have her so I drank it. LOL! U can ask Dr Q and see what he says about it all.

No problem about giving u a suggestion. I know how it is to be ready to have the little one.

I posted a question for Dr Q. If he says its safe... I just might have to go for it!

I will tell u that I throw up the whole way to the hospital after I drank it but it worked for me. LOL!

Hey Meghan, I asked my Dr the same question. She said she couldnt see it because of the existing CM. But if ur Cervix is open, I would assume the plug is gone. Not all see the plug in a single piece.

Meghan.. ur crazy but funny as hell. LOL! I didnt mind the barfing either as long as she was out. I was preggo the whole summer with both of my children and it was rough.

oh that would be. i would be so sick.. I get sick from the heat as it is!

Hey Meghan I gotta tip for ya. Ask ur Dr if ur cervix Internal orifice is open or is it just the external. If its just the external, which can happen a lot of times, then ur mucous plug will still be present, or atleast a part of it. The internal orifice needs to be dialated for labor. But with 90% effacement I think it would be both, but just ask.

It is my internal as well... she told me that... becauce at one point, it was just the external, but she said I was dilated all the way through.
