Can my doctor safely prescripe a medication for migraines during pregnancy?

January 14, 2008

Pre-pregancy I had migraines every 7-14 days. Up until friday, I hadn't had any. However, Friday I had a migraine, and Now, I've currently had another migraine since yesterday (Sunday) it's making me nauseas and exhausted feeling.

Tylenol isn't helping, and aspirin free excedrin makes me jittery, but doesn't touch the headache. I tried having my hubby massage my head and neck, but it made me so nauseas I had to make him stop.

If I were to talk to my doctor, is there anything she can give me to help that is relatively safe??

Meghan go to a massage therapist and get a massage it will release the tension of the migraine...i get them, my sister had them with the triplets 2 and she found a massage releived them. They are lots of massage therapists that have speacial degrees in dealing with pregnant women....hence most spas

I actually am a massage therapist with special training in prenatal massage! :o) Problem is, I can handle the massage. Like a great deal of pregnant women, it makes me ill.

I had my husband doing all the techniques I would use.. and they all made me so sick I had to make him stop. Same thing happened last time I visited my massage therapist... :o(

Migraines are some of the toughest things to deal with in Pregnancy, and very little can be done to help them...Tylenol is good, otherwise in extreme cases, narcotics (tylenol#3) for example may be considered...
