There is minimal to no harm to take clomid and absolutely it is possible to take after this period. However, there are some issues that need to be addressed. Number one, it is important to reassure yourself that this is a "true" expected period, being you're getting it around the day you're expecting it and not on a random unexpected time. The other concerning issue is that clomid is notorious for creating a thin, unfriendly for embryos, endometrium: which we refer on ultrasound as a thin lining. This can create very light period. Now, these are assumptions I'm making given your light period, but may be wise to either have your endometrium supplemented with medications that can proliferate the growth, such as estrogen, if this "thin" endometrium has been or can be documented via ultrasound. If you wish to be safe, you can take other medications that won't antagonize the endometrium such as letrozole or injectable medictions. The last scenario that could create a light period would be a cyst, in which taking clomid would have minimal to no effect in creating an ovulatory cycle this month. Always best to be evaluated by a specialist to make sure everything is going right such as creating a healthy endometrium and making sure there is no cyst, but in the end, there is minimal to no harm in taking clomid under these circumstances with no supervision...worst case scenario is that unfortunately nothing happens and best case is that something positive (like you ovulate) happens giving you hopefully the pregnancy you're looking for.

On my first 2 rounds of clomid I only had one day bleeds, altho the bleeding was heavier than normal. On third round I bled heavier than usual on day one then spotted for 3 further day. I now question whether my lining is thin altho it was not identified on uss as such. I always do a hpt after bleed before starting new cycle of clomid to be sure that there is no pregnancy. Hope this is helpful. Anyway, good luck to those trying clomid!! xx

Loads of hot flushes, day and night but mainly at night. Did not really notice any difference with cm. We use preseed as a lube which I think is good.

Hey guys I noticed that my 'heavy and horrible' AF dried up and went away the day after my first pill on clomid. is that normal?? Usually my periods are about 5-6 days and I took clomid on cd 3 and by cd4 it was... basically gone, very weird. I know it dries up ur CM but does it also do that to ur period? not that im complaining or anything HAHA

Hi Jennifer,

sorry for taking so long to respond to you, I have not been logging on daily as I used to, trying to be less obsessive!!!! In answer to your question I don't know. Not helpful I know but I just didn't want you to think I was being rude by not responding!!!!! All the best. xx

i have a question for u guys can u take clomid after only 2 days of very LIGHT spotting? it was just pink on the t.p. then it was brown. little tiny bit on my underwear the first day. didnt use tampons or anything... if that wasn't my AF then im CD35 right now. if it tech. was, then id be CD3, if I am CD 3 i need to start clomid.

im so confused, i called my doctor he said to wait for what feels like the true onset of my period and then take clomid cd3 after that...

but i usually always get my periods cd30-36 and my boobs have been sore for about 10 days now... im so confused.

deep inside me i feel like that was my AF and just being on clomid last cycle made it very thin. but my dr said that just spotting doesnt count. why does it have to be so difficult.

I truly understand. After my miscarriage I waited and waited for a period. Finally something, I call the doctor to see if I could come in for testing. Nope. You must wait until. Cycle Day 1 is your first day of FULL flow. It sucks. But hopefully the real AF is right around the corner. Good Luck.
