Can I get pregnant if I have Ovarian Cysts?

I have an ovarian cyst and i have been with my bf for over 3 years having unprotected sex and i have never had a single scare about being pregnant. i was put on birth control to try and minimize it just the other day but will my cyst go away and when it goes away will i maybe be able to get pregnant.? how long do i have to take Birth control for it to go away because its fairly small?
