I am 24yrs old with 2 kids. After I gave birth to my second child,my bleeding never stopped for 5 months so I consulted a doctor and i was diagnosed with pcos. I medicated but was not able to continue my medication due to financial reasons. though during medicating, the everyday bleeding changed to every two weeks menstruation period. The problem is after my last period this december, I still dont have my period til now. Is it possible that I am pregnant? I still dont want to have another baby since my 2nd baby is only turning 1yr this february.I did not use any contraceptives after being diagnosed with pcos because i was told that this sickness would cause infertility. At this time, I am currently orlistat to lose weight because I want to lose weight first before taking my mediacation for my pcos.

i will tell you my sister works on labor and delivery and she was talking to and obgyn about me having pcos and that obgyn told her i need to get on orlistat something in that is helping pcos patients get preg. just thought i would share that with you

Hi,

One can get pregnant with PCOS, and you may be at risk, and only by checking a pregnancy test will you know.

If not pregnant, birth control pills can help with the symptoms of PCOS while allowing you to lose weight

Yes, you can get pregnant on your own with PCOS, the best way is to test, like Dr Q said......and I went on bcp's years ago JUST to regulate periods

and not deal with the disappointment of no pregnancy.

KUP and take care.....there are MANY sites for PCOS that help figure out what's going on with you. I don't know if it's "legal" to give a site's url here or not, so I won't do that until I find out if it's ok or not ...or you can PM me and I'll give you an EXCELLENT site for PCOS.

well ill give u a short version of my story to help ya out...

i was on seasonal (the birthcontrol that made it so u only had 4 periods a year) for about 2 years and then stopped. 2 years later my periods were still abnormal. I got diagnosed with PCOS in June of 2008. I went on 2 cycles of clomid (both which made me had normal cycles) and then didnt do anymore. My last period was August 28th 2008.... and i ended up concieving on October 20th because i somehow ovulated on cycle day 50-something. It is possible... its just alot harder. =)

hi..tnx for the comments...Dr. Q,could you give me a specific brand of contraceptive pills that is not so expensive and that would help me lose weight and also help me with pcos. I used to take "lady pills" but I gain weight with that pills. thanks you in advance

i also want ask. is orlistat bad for pregnant women?it was indicated in the leaflet that pregnant women should not use orlistat. how come some of my friends are also telling me that orlistat helps pcos women get pregnant?im confused...sorry people.. im just too worried right now.

got a big poblem now... my pregnancy test is posiive but the ultrasound said no sign of pregnanacy yet. though endometrium is thick..
