Hi Keysfergy,
Some doc's don't know about femara, and along with this, Femara isn't approved by the FDA for ovulation induction so it's not marketed...many reasons why Clomid is still chosen.
Some people never feel ewcm and ovulate...so to not have it is ok...and people can conceive, but checking for ovulation using OPKs is one of the best way of going about things.

This is a great question, and although it may help, ewcm is primarily created by the body's excess production of Estrogen and Estrogen is directly derived from Cholesterol...Funny, when you look at how Primrose works, it is believed it works through it's ability to lower Cholesterol (I think I see a little inconsistency here..)
If you're worried about ewcm, which for most people it is truly not an issue, except for some maybe on Clomid, may recommend other products, such as Pre-Seed, and even then, it's better for lubrication purposes.
If you truly have noticed a clear change in consistency in cm when you started clomid, you may want to ask your doc to switch you to another med, such as Femara (letrozole) that may not impact the cervical mucus to such an extent.
