Can clomid help make a better egg?

are you pregnant now? I cant remember I was put on clomid so that it will make a better egg i to ovulate on my own this month clomid made three follicles

We never used Clomid b4, just injections.

Clomid does help to improve pregnancy for which is it thought that the eggs are probably superior when they are stimulated

Yeah I would think it would..b/c remember they found with ivf my eggies were immature..but I did have two chemical pregs on clomid!

oh i am so sorry let me ask did you get tested for any blood clotting disorders this could cause miscarriages and infertiltity issues. i had twoo in a row it is draining i will let you know what my plain is/was clomid days 3-7, progesterone day 21, baby aspirin while ttc and then lovenox after bfp i also am taking prenatal vitamins, extra 2000mcg of folic acid anf a b complex

you should ask your doctor to do a follicle check on day 14-16

when are you starting clomid what days be sure to purchase opk kits i ovulated on day 15 and it was bad worst pain i ever felt i thogh my appendix was gonna burst

i have had a lot of tests but now since 2 m/c i am put into another "category" of patients and tests. I have 2 children then i had no issues conceiving or carrying the 9 months, they are nice and healthy. They will be 12 and 10 in August so its been quite a few years since i have had a child. Im 33. I didnt get tested for blood clotting since they assume i dont have it cuz i have 2 kids already but now after this m/c they tested for it along with chromosomal testing, diabetes, thyroid and other stuff to see whats up.

I have taken prog each time i had IUI's and IVF's but even w/out then i have a good prgestereon number after ovulation.

I will take the clomid days 3-7 as well. I take a prenatal vit, 1 cacium.magnesium/zinc vitamins, a Omega3 tablet, lexapro fo ranxiety due to the m/c's, Vit E for fertiltiy..... good lord, all i do all day long is pop pills! LOL!

I have a crap load of OPK's from before - i bought 50 of them on eaby for $25.00 so i am set for a long time! LOL!

wait big mistake i have three healthy full term children and my daughter will be 5 i am trying for my forth for the last year when my doc immediatly tested me for these issues and they came up. i always had the mutation something could have triggered it now please get tested

also were you under six weeks when you m/c

you should start baby aspirin especially since you have had two in a row. sound like are stories are similar click on my story

whats funny peanut is that the first IVF and none of the IUI's i didnt take the baby aspirin and didnt get preggo - the 2nd round of IVF i took the stuff (on my own cuz doc said i didnt need it) and got preggo but after the retreival they told me to stop taking it so i did. I got preggo and lost it so always wondered if it had something to do with that? I got tested and should have all the test results back in a few weeks.

The 1st m/c i had last august and i was 5.5 weeks when i started bleeding and this one i was 8 weeks along with no heartbeat so they forced a m/c at 10 weeks when i wasnt bleeding still.

What is the baby asprin supp to do? I have seen other post where ladies were taking it but thought only that was for IVF'ers?? Chels, how are you, did not know you had decided to try clomid :)

i think it thins the blood or something so it flows better to the uterus..... at least thats what i think it does LOL!

It's interesting to see Dr Q say that the egg is "stronger". My old & favorite doc told me the same thing-wanted me to go on clomid right when we started trying (I didn't & then later MC). When I had to change docs my new one said there is no such thing as making a stronger egg. Only that O'ing late in your cycle may poss produce a poorer quality egg & that he would consider putting me on it to help me O sooner in my cycle(he later did). Now I ask you what is the difference? Crazy how every Dr is diff & yet they supp studied the same things:))

yup, strange that so many have different opinions on the very same thing but i guess thats what is so great about this site and the interent - lots of great ideas and opinions and we can pick what we like from the "pot of ideas"!

Agreed! When the 2nd doc told me that I was just bewildered- but reading on here & researching has helped out alot! Cause I guess if you are O'ing at the best possible time with the help of the clomid then you are produsing a better egg...I have often wondered if that may have been a problem with my 1st pregnancy but who knows...

plese mention these disorders to your doctor mthfr and prothromomin are all associated with miscarriages before the heart beat starts? it sounds like you need lovenox start getting a second opinion as well as asking for your blood results to ensure you were testedx for this alsoinsist that he test you for these disorders i can not stress this enough
