Can Clomid delay my period?

August 08, 2008

My period works like a little clock. Every 26 days on the dot I get it. I started my first round of Clomid 50mg and I was expecting to have my period 3 days ago. I didn't get anything so far. However, I have been having mild cramps for a week now! I really don't think I am pregnant cause the cramps I am having feels very alike when I get my period, and also my husband was diagnosted with low sperm motility a couple days ago...but the delay is concerning me. Can Clomid mess up my cycle and delay my period. Thanks! Cris.

I am on my third round of clomid and every time it has been different. I am on my third round, CD35 and still no AF. Are you sure you ovulated this cycle?

Cristina- clomid can delay ovulation (or speed it up), which will change when your period is due, so its important to track ovulation with opks/bbt, etc.

Also, cramps don't mean you aren't pregnant! many women have cramps that feel like af, but they are actually pregnant.

BABY DUST!

Hey! Thanks for all you for the answers! So I am 4 days late and no sign of my period yet...I would like to know what is the right time to take an urine test? Is it possible to test now and get an accurate result? Cause I really don't want to take it too early, get a negative and then get all depressed hehe Thanks !

YES! Test! They say you can get a positive as soon as 10DPO...

have you taken a test yet? do you always have cycles that are the same in length...exactly?

when u are late you can deff test anytime of the day and get an accurate result. you cant know if you are late unless you are 14 days past ovulation. Do you know when you ovulated cristina?

a 26 day cycle is shorter than the "norm" so it may make you ovulate a few days earlier than normal. with a 26 day cycle you probably ovulate around day 11 or 12 or you have a shorter LP and thats why they put you on the clomid to help you ovulate around day 14 and have a 28 or 29 day cycle instead so the fertilized egg can have enough time to implant in the uterus.

good luck nd keep up posted - welove to see htose BFP posts!!!

Hi girls, thanks for the posts... Yeah, I tested yesterday and it come out negative, but so far no sign of my period. And yes Dawnriden, my cycles are always regular. I believe in 12 years I never had a late period (at least not like this), but some people told me it's pretty normal that happen with Clomid, so who knows.

To be honest Chelsha, this month I didn't track my ovulation ( I was a little down) cause I was not stressing anymore about getting pregnant naturally, due to my husband's sperm low motility. My RE put me on Clomid to start the preparation for the future IUI we will do. I sooooo wish we didn't have to do a IUI and conceive only using Clomid. I will keep praying to God...
