can an Ultrasound show a damaged fallopian tube

October 08, 2007

Hi Dr Q,

Can or would a transvaginal ultrasound show a ruptured fallopian tube. I'm not talking in the case of a possible tubal pg. I mean after the fact. Would you be able to see damage to a fallopian tube if any through a transvaginal ultrasound?

Thanks

This Sunny, unfortunately isn't possible, let alone visualizing a fallopian tube can be difficult to see via ultrasound to the untrained eye.

thanks Dr Q. I just had my HSG done today & the dye went through rather quickly, no blockage, very mild cramping. I am SOOO relieved to know that everything is OK. Now I will be diligent in BD these next 3 months & hopefully will get a BFP. fingers crossed...xx
