Breakthrough light bleeding

I have just finished weaning my baby from the breast and last week I had breakthrough bleeding/brown discharge for 3 days, was it a period or was I ovulating?

Looks like u didnt ovulate last cycle based on the information that u just had a breakthru/brown discharge. May be next cycle u will.
