Bloating

Bloating is usually associated with ovulation, particularly afterwards. However, bloating can be due to many other things also, including stress...If you notice that this is not necessarily associated with your ovulatory patterns, then a general physician may be able to provide you with better answers

I know that lately I am stressed so maybe that is what it is. Some days are worse than others and it seems worse when I get up first thing in the morning.



Another question: if my doctor put me on 3 cycles of provera could that helped to regulate my periods in a way that it could helped ovulation to start on time or would that not have done anything? Someone told me that I won't ovulate after a cycle of provera but that I would just get a withdrawl bleed. Someone else told me that this is not true and that Provera can actually set my cycles straight again and help me to start ovulating on my own.

The doctor I had was hoping that by taking provera it would make my body get into a regular cycle ...which did not work. I am going to an OBGYN tomorrow and hoping that she RX Clomid for me. If I have to I'll beg for it. Right now it is only our only shot. I am not ovulating or having periods on my own.....Good Luck!

Maybe I was led to believe that Provera works in a different way than it really does. It is hard to know who to listen to because it seems as though all the advice I have been getting from people is different. I am not talking about the advice given from those on this forum but rather from people that I see on a daily basis at home or work. However, I am sure Dr.Q will now the right answer....he is full of useful information!!

Hi Guys,

Provera will NOT necessarily stimulate your body to ovulate. All provera does is "shed" the blood that has accumulated inside your uterus creating a period, and has little to nothing to do with ovulation. Clomid, on the other hand, is all about helping you ovulate. Hope this info helps and am glad you're finding the site useful

Unfortunately Katrina, when you bleed after provera, it means you that a pregnancy isn't there, because if you were pregnant, you wouldn't bleed.

I would strongly suggest if you're not ovulating consistently, that you at least use Clomid to help you, and in terms of progesterone supplementation, Provera doesn't help much and you'd need to purchase vaginal progesterone for it to be beneficial. These methods should not only regulate your periods, but also help you get pregnant

Dr.Q. I have a question. My last round of Provera was 3 weeks ago and my last period started on August 9 and ended August 13. I am going to see an OB today and planning on asking for Clomid. Would it be wise to run another cycle of provera first so that I start a new calendar or can I go straight onto the clomid? I want to give myself the best chance possible for conceiving.

I'm having bloating around the stomach area also, and injections are harder to put in on some days, but doing my best! Is anyone else having those problems? The follistim pen never gives me problems but the other two menopur and ganirelix has days the needle doesn't go in all the way. Strange..
